Guest guest
Dear Rohini ji & others, I wonder! where were these " scholars " when cats & dogs take over the " group " ? One come with " worlds greatest Astrologer " and another calls for jihad on classics. You want serious Astrology? Here is an excercise for you. Here are two set of Birth data. Set 1 A) 25-Sep-1974; 2:22PM, Cochin B) 14-Nov-1969; 1:45AM, Cochin B) 07-Oct-1972; 12:30AM, Cochin Set 2 A) 13-Oct-1969; 11:12 AM, Cochin B) 15-Dec-1961; 12:30 PM, Cochin C) 01-May-1971; 5:15 PM, Cochin D) 03-Feb-1968; 1:15 PM, Cochin E) 01-APr-1962; 4:05 PM, Cochin In the two sets, Fathers & Mothers are different A) Identify in each set the factor that indetifies that Father of these children are same and Mother is Same. B) Identify the gender of the Natives. I don't want any links or long articles. But simple 1,2 3 identification. A word to the Moderator: Prevention is better than Cure. (we have heard enough of the democratic principles).  A.G.Suresh Babu Shenoy ________________________________ rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani Thu, January 14, 2010 8:12:37 AM OPEN CHALLENGE!  This is my open challenge to Gopu, Dhirendra and I forget who the other assailants were! Guest guest
More as a Challenge,it should be an objective to extract from the base of jyotish ,convey and help the people in problems. Towards this goal,no doubt all of us are oriented. In the process some with the art of expression certainly can justify, impress and talk at length about Jyotish as rxisted in plam leaves,as progressing and as expected with technology aiding our efforts. For changing generations jyotish never remains the same. Also v r in global mould attracting people in house as well as from very remote corner. We need to maintain: " World is A Camera Keep On Smiling "  " MUST show your mettle and what you have done for Astrology or for individuals whom you have helped through astrology! " This involves linking of two different spheres of Astrology as what it was portrayed by our seers in their wisdom and in the present concern is towrds application and to resolves the challenges/contradictions that are posed and put the subject in quandry. iam sure all of your views have positivity, significance, meaning and a collective wisdom is always mmeaningful if not the democratic enforcements. It is now a question for the giver if light and divine inspiration, planetary king to leave odd sign and enter a more peaceful, even sign of Makara Sankramana and Uttarayana and to pray wish for well being Vattem Krishnan Cyber Jyotish Services (For all counseling services) Dr.B.V.Raman " Fools Obey Planets While  Wisemen Can Control Them " Planets are neutral Controllers of Mans Karma  --- On Wed, 1/13/10, rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani wrote: rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani OPEN CHALLENGE! Guest guest
Dear Santhosh jee! WE have always had two teams! Jyotishis and Jijmaans! Jyotishis are those who cook food and then serve food to those lined up to receive food prepared with love and with kind thoughts and love! Like in a marriage dinner, or a shraddha or a langar! The occasion does not matter! It is the serving that matters! When we serve, we take on the role of our mothers who raised us! And thus we emulate MA! Simple? Absolutely!! It is neither Devatas vs Asuras.Nor by N and Y.Inter activity is most essentail that has to build up challenges in Jyotish,Effrot, patience, preservence and artuclation to convince with moderisation of Astrological concepts is the need as we find from the great expectation of Astro enthusiasts, So it is not that problem of cold or fever to say " Coldarn lo " what is on shelf some clues and some guidnace, that is only means to find a way out.We need to fathom further and come up with satisfactory solution that can have a soothing effect as well as relief from the problems. The handful of people named probably in their over zealousness might have side tracked or seems to have mislaid, which is not so. Once involvement is there in concepts, understanding becomes is easy.Paa.Papa.Ma and Amma, every one in their stride feel relvance of Astrology in today's world. By various means,of Classical era of jyotish, having many things to understand need now proper application for present days and a redifinition. How we can handle this complexity and how we make members more as contributors than indicating their displeasure and disdain.is the issue to be explored. Guest guest
Dear Rohini ji, the word auspicious can only be related to something traditional for otherwise any day is like any other day. hence on a personal level this day cannot be auspicious and i cannot have a personal opinion. so let us see what tradition says. 1.makara sankranti is related to harvesting and it is a harvest festival hence it has a auspicious touch to it. 2. it is on this day that makara jyothi appears on top of the hill opposite to ayyappa temple in sabarimala. Lord Ayyappa appearing to his devotees as a light than can be seen. hence it indicates auspiciousness. 3. The rashi makara belongs to saturn and on this day sun enters his sons house. Hence it is defnitely goodnews and so a good occassion. 4. It is the day when Lord Vishnu ended the terror of the asuras by destroying them and burying their heads under the Mandara Parvata. So this occasion also represents the end of negativities and beginning of an era of righteous living. 5. I have also heard this is day Ganga ma was brought down to earth. Hence a holy day. 6. It was this day that bhishma pitamah decided to accept iccha mrityu. Since even he felt this was the best day to begin his journey onwards, it surely must be an auspicious day. Rohini Ji can you please add anything further from your knowledge base, ofcourse if you also consider the day as auspicious. regards and thanks for the opportunity given to this 'not fit' santhosh ________________________________ rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani Thu, 14 January, 2010 12:01:56 PM Re: OPEN CHALLENGE!  Santhosh_jee Since you are on my radar today and shall remain so for some time to come ;-), why do you think Makar Sankranti should be so auspicious as beginnings go? Guest guest
Dear shri suresh babu, I am not competent to take up astro challenges. However I always like to read ur analysis, because it has been educative on the astro front. I had to bring it to the notice of the moderator because most of the mails in the last few days were more of personal interaction without any focus on astrology. However I have replied to shri Prashant that i would not like to give counters and prolong the subject. Guest guest
Dear friend, For me, each and every day is auspicious! For instance, today, you told me such wonderful things about yourself and your tradition and took the time to just connect from such a great distance, geographically! For one person whose reality changed completely around the middle of January some 30 years ago, Makar sankranti was very personal and indeed a new beginning! Each of us, or most of us, celebrate our birthdays each year with much joy and hooplaa, but it is only certain years when birthdays mean something and bring to us the gifts from heavens! Won't you agree? Some years, harvests are bountiful, other years marasmic! We make the choice if we remember the lean years or the bountiful ones! This world is a strange place! Let me give an example of MAYA! While India is embracing the Spring (Vasanta), Australia is getting ready for Autumn! Binary reality indeed! What we experience depends on where we are! And not who we are!! > 6. Guest guest
Gopu, How can Jyotish be anything but PERSONAL? Jyotishis look into some individual, usually a stranger's very personal diary when they open a chart! Always upon request and never prompted by idle curiosity or to appease the astrologer's ego (sometimes seen in younger astrologers who have not yet made it through the first saturn return!)! It is not Jyotish that is sacred but the individual and his or her horoscope that is sacred! But once one has been offered to enter a stranger's home, how can one call that invitation and the visit anything but personal? :-) Perhaps it is time to caliberate or get the sightings tuned-up and right!! Guest guest
Dear Suresh Babu ji; Since your goodself seems to have penchant for throwing challenges. I request you to lead by example, A gentleman should always practice what he preaches. So why don't you take head on the challenges as listed below. There is a hefty prize money. If not interested in money, the like of you should attempt at least for sake of honour. 1. The Science and Rationalists' Association of India (Bengali <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengali_language> : Bharatiya Bigyan O Yuktibadi Samiti) is predominantly a rationalist <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationalist> group based in Kolkata <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolkata> , India <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India> The group offers a prize of Rs. 25,00,000 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prizes_for_evidence_of_the_paranor\ mal> to anyone who can make accurate astrological predictions/calculations under proper observing conditions 2. THE HINDU Online edition of India's National Newspaper Thursday, May 14, 2009Rationalists' challenge to astrologers on poll result Staff Reporter VIJAYAWADA: Rationalists and humanists have challenged astrologers and other purveyors of superstition to predict election result accurately and win a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore. Taking strong exception to the manner in which politicians had been virtually prostrating before the `so-called' astrologers and soothsayers in an attempt to find out their political fortunes, members of the Indian chapter of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), Manava Vikas Vedika, Indian Radical Humanist Association, Hyderabad Rationalist Forum and its affiliated organisations like Jana Vignana Vedika and the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations have together thrown the gauntlet at the much-sought after astrologers who have been in great demand in this election season. Seeking to disagree with the contention that astrology was also a science, they wondered as to why astrologers aired diverse predictions about the poll outcome. The questionnaire prepared by them include queries on the next Prime Minister of the country, the combination of parties that would form the government at the Centre, number of seats to be won by the major political parties, next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and name of the astrologer who would win this contest. Last date The last date for sending entries is May 15. Entries must be sent by registered post or courier in a sealed cover and accompanied by a demand draft for Rs. 10,000 drawn in favour of Jana Vignana Vedika. Guest guest
I was watching a silly Seinfeld comedy show earlier and Jerry was in a car showroom to buy a car and his neurotic friends were doing their usual song and dance around the theme! In the end, Elaine broke up with her new boyfriend and grumpy as he was when he returned to add up Jerry's invoice he kept adding all kinds of items and in the end said, Keys -- 200Dollars! " KEYS! " , Jerry Exclaimed! " How are you going to start the car? " , the ex-boyfriend of Elaine asked! What a demand, indeed!! Guest guest
Sun is the father, Santhosh ... I hope not Jyotishi contests that unless they are starting some weird system, yet again! When the father crosses the Dehleej, the threshold children get worried! Because we have been told, conditioned that crossing a threshold makes one vulnerable and when father is vulnerable, the rest of the family, especially the children feel the impact the most! Mesha, Karka, Tula, Makar are the four samkrantis whence Father Sun who is fixed (permanent) moves from ambivalence (mutable) to action (cardinal) before coming back home to rest (fixed)! Solar individuals love constancy and continuity, familiarity and order! Motion makes them quesey and yet it energizes them hence the duality that we witness in aries and libra. Moon and saturn determine how sun would behave when in cancer and capricorn! Jupiter and mars if so placed help too, for Sun relates to both of them. Like I said earlier: As below so above! You all are way more intelligent than I can ever be. Let me not waste your time with details!!
