Some prisms form the upper half (Higher path), other prism forms the lower half (lower path), but BOTH when working in balance and together can lead to reconstitution of the diffuse image into a sharp focused ray which can burn (lens focusing the sunlight!) but when used separately, each prism can only split the white light into its components which are fun to watch but really do not accomplish anything -- same as one factor astrology so popular in some circles!
