Most often people dread running the dasa of 8L(for all the right reasons)..But

8th house also holds a key to many important aspects of our lives..Any members

would like to elaborate on this topic further?

They should be hunkering down to learn astrology and not peck at scraps and run

with it! The people who dread the dasa of 8L.

Please share what are the 'right reasons' as you claimed or learned somewhere or

from someone :-)?

8th cannot be all that bad! It is the house of Mangalya for a woman, or

avoidance of widowhood -- a big fear in ancient days when Man used to be the

sole wage-earner and society's sadistic glare fell on the innocent woman and

some of those were even burned alive in ancient times -- often enough and even

queens -- to show up in Around the world in 80 days! Girish Karnad and Ayesha

Takiya and Gul Panagh were very convincing in that movie based against the

Rajasthani backdrop, more recently!

8th also has been misrepresented as the house of death! Heck no! It is the house

of longevity and so is the 8th from it -- The Third! It is the houses in the

loss or 12th from those that kill and are marakas -- 2nd and 7th :-)

Saturn the BAD BOY, the AYUSHKARAKA in the 8th gives a long life (if other

Gotees match up in the chart!) and is an example of the KBN principle that many

worshipped for long time, and many still do! They were looking at the wrong

KARAKATTWA, perhaps!!

Now DIG DEEPER! This is not a wild goose chase, I promise you! :-)

Dear Member,

Basically it is one of the house requiring sacrifice and is of moksha

sthan..Provides a insight to better his/her aspiration. It is no doubt mysterious

house as a secret house. If one can successful analyse 8th house in any chart, the

rest of the aspect of any event can easily be understood and anlysed.Beauty or

other wise, one has to take up issues with a plain and sincere outlook towrds

this hosue aprt from all other issues of jyotish.

Vedic Jyotish concepts require proper initiaton apart from one's own interest to

understand various complex issues relating to palnets, destiny and Dhrma. As part

of 12 houses of 8th house is prominent for longevity purpose. For female

horoscopes it promotes her style of life and increases security concerns and

gives satisfacton of her womanhood.

8th house is not dreaded house nor it's dasa.It goes with the label of malefic

house.benifics of 8th reduce malefic effects and promote 8th relating to ayush

and for a woman as 2nd 2 7th help in prosperity.Being a secret house and in

kalpurusha assigned the role of generative organs.it has many good things. As

12th to 9th a Dharma house.can make the native to keep him evn spirtual to ward

off problems and to enhance moral strength.8th is also 4th to 4th and the

signification are never too harsh for anlysis. It has also other issues which

perhaps take away patience if under  problems and under sufferings

Common now RR_Ji, what women will not dread being a widow(especially when she is

not that old!)?

And what is so wrong with SATI..What if the women wishes to be united with her

pati in the afterlife?

Is it so bad for a women to die for her husband(her undying devotion, and who

means everything to her!!)..I think back in those good old rajput days the women

died for their husband in order to protect the purity of her body, so she

doesn't get taken as a slave to another man.

Dear Lilly,

I would not be able to answer that question, AMMA!

I have no experience or recollection of how it feels to be a woman! No woman

should ever begin to feel so dependent on their husband that life ends with him

and SUICIDE remains the only option -- particularly when she decides to kill

herself! Just realize that TODAY, it is an OPTION, but not too many years ago,

it was a SOCIALLY-IMPOSED decree! And even those MAs who escaped the burning

PYRE, their individual lives were made so insipit and so BLANK that perhaps

socially-imposed death would have been a welcome relief for them!

There are many more aspects of this complex social policy and politics that we

better not discuss or we will get the sleeping dogs aroused again, as the

ancient saying goes!

A misleading header/thread and airing views like://good old rajput days the

women died for their husband in order to protect the purity of her body//

These r convictions of people right or wrong. Not certainly what learners have to

b concerned and for other knowledgeable Jyotishis to address.JR's ideals have to

main concerns to serve members with honest and sincere approach to stand by them

and help them to come out of their hardships.

Have you seen this art movie directed by Deepa Mehta " WATERS " dealing with such

social issues..The movie dealt with what happened to widows and took you back to

the 40's of India. The movie opened in the Toronto International Film Festival

and was voted the top ten movies in Canada (2005).

Ok, I am going off topic again..Will stop now..

Dear Prashant,

Will you be doing something about this guy; I am so sick of reading the emails

of this person....I have been a member of this forum ever since this was

incepted. You have ignored pleas from some very humble and respected people like

Gopuji....It is my fervent plea that you at least let tell this guy not to post

any frivolous postings...

Rohiniranjan, I just thought I will tell you, do not respond to this email. I am

talking to the moderator of this group, and whatever action, he deems fit, will

be taken.

MAYA Teray kitnay ROOP!

Astrology of PADAS and three types of KARAKAs and a human and a keeta sign ruled

by two planets, and the symbolisms that are common across the vargas while the

planet alone remains true and real (whether in Kshetra or no matter which other

varga...!), as long as one is using Drig calculations such as NASA JPL routines

and Swiss Ephemeries, although a few question those conventions as we all have

seen!

What more does one need, to give Jyotish the Academy Awards of BEST MAYA BUSTER?

Dear Sharma Ji,

A Humble request!

I can see your frustration, but please don't loose your cool as everyone

deserves a chance. We are all hear to learn, and contribute whatever little we

know in this great forum. People have different ways to express themselves, so

not everyone's post will make sense to us..If something is bothering please

politely address it to the individual.

Rohiniranjan,

As adamant as you are (in Hindi it is called Dheet), you still responded to my

following email. I had requested you in all my humility, not to respond to my

email. You still did....well, that reinforces my belief you are so very dheet.

You had no business to show disrespect to Goupji when he had not addressed his

mail to you.

I also felt that you were trying to show your upmanship to some of nicest

members on this forum ( i do not want to name them) who are trying to help

people in dire straits.

Please stop this nonsense; will you....

Dear Manoj_jee,

A member from the very inception of this forum! WOW!

By the way, who is this " Goupji " you were so worried about? Did you mean,

" Gopijee " or 'Gopu_jee " , both wonderful human beings from my viewpoint! :-)

Why do you have this reluctance to name people who are NICE? I think everyone is

very nice here, including you! :-)

I will stop the " nonsense " as soon as you do...!

Best Regards,

Rohiniranjan

Dear Manoj_jee,

A member from the very inception of this forum! WOW!

By the way, who is this " Goupji " you were so worried about? Did you mean,

" Gopijee " or 'Gopu_jee " , both wonderful human beings from my viewpoint! :-)

Why do you have this reluctance to name people who are NICE? I think everyone is

very nice here, including you! :-)

I will stop the " nonsense " as soon as you do...!

Best Regards,

Rohiniranjan

It is the house of longevity and so is the 8th from it -- The Third! It is the

houses in the loss or 12th from those that kill and are marakas -- 2nd and 7th

No woman should ever begin to feel so dependent on their husband that life ends

with him and SUICIDE remains the only option -- particularly when she decides to

kill herself! Just realize that TODAY, it is an OPTION, but not too many years

ago, it was a SOCIALLY-IMPOSED decree! And even those MAs who escaped the

burning PYRE, their individual lives were made so insipit and so BLANK that

perhaps socially-imposed death would have been a welcome relief for them!
