I have a friends chart who has his marriage lord (Saturn) linked with mars (that is also a yogakaraka being 5th lord) in both lagna and navamsha chart. In such a case is it good that the marriage lord is with mars ? Does the fact that it is a yogakarka planet override the fact that it is a natural malefic planet also? I have seen a few charts where the marriage lord is with malefics or 8th lord planets or being strongly aspected by mars and causes the husband or wife to die. What are your views? Guest guest Posted February 8, 2010 Report Share Posted February 8, 2010 Dear Robert,  The Yoga Karaka is a planet that owns one Kendra & one Trikona in a chart.  Hence you will get Perfect Yoga Karaka for  Taurus : Saturn (owns 9th & 10th) Cancer : Mars (owns 5th & 10th) Leo : Mars (Owns 4th & 9th) Libra : Saturn (owns 4th & 5th) Capricorn : Venus (owns 5th & 10th) Aquarius : Venus (owns 4th & 9th)  Other signs do not have such Yoga Karaka as the Kendra owners happen to be owners of Non - Trikona signs  Malefic Planets as owners of Kendra sign are considered Benefic only if they are not lords of 6 / 8 / 12 signs. There are several rules to be assertained here.  In this case  If the Timezone is +3 then the Lagna falls in Libra. Hence the Yoga Karaka is saturn  However if timezone is +4 then the Lagna falls in Virgo. Guest guest Posted February 9, 2010 Report Share Posted February 9, 2010  For Libra Ascendent, Saturn is the Yoga Karak being the lord of 4th & 5th, Hence a Benefic of high order.  However, Its strength or weakness in any position should also be assertained with regard to what it shall confer or not or how much.  The dasa of saturn, & friendly planets that are associated shall bring a lot of goodness in the native life depending on the age etc.  But if the same Saturn is in dusthana (6 th / 8 th / 12th ) may not confer those gooddies. Similarly if the Saturn is in Sussthana but devoid of strength by way of combustion, Lack of Varga strengths , Dig bala, chestha bala etc.  One rule of exception may be if Venus (lord of Libra) & Saturn are in 6 / 8 mutualy and one is stronger than the other, Saturn or Venus shall confer many benefic effects.  In my opinion the native should not wear gems stones if the saturn have adequate strength and is in dusthana. But can try if the saturn is in Susthana but does not have enough strength to become effective.  In general, a very strong malefic is not very good for a normal life. This is true in case of saturn, particularly.
