Guest guest
Dear Kulbir jee, Does LalKitab utilize Horas? Am asking that since you indicated that it specified ~horas for R & K. As you know, I am sure, the weekday-Hora system traditionally only considered the 7 visible 'planetary' indicators for these categorizations...! Guest guest
Yes SiRR, Lalkitab follows the traditional concept for lordship of days. (Janam Din ka Grah) Lord of birth weekday and (Janam Waqt ka Grah) Lord of hora of Birth time hold immense importance. Time slot for Planets in 24 hours is. For Hora - Jupiter - 4 hours. Sun - 1 hour 20 minutes. Moon - 40 minutes. Venus - 2 hours. Mars both ( =ive and - ive ) - 4 hours. Mercury - 1 hour 20 minutes. Saturn - 4 hours. Rahu and Ketu - 6 hours. Riyayti (Lordship not fixed)- 40 minutes. For Hora From Sunrise to Sunset planets are alloted horas in the order as;-  Dawn - Ketu, Jupiter, Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Dusk - Rahu. All night time belongs to Moon except;- Amavasya night belongs to Venus ( Light from stars is there ). Pitch black darkness time i.e. when there is no light from Sun. Moon or Stars e.g. in case of a cloudy night, is of Saturn. Dawn of Sunday has special quality of time under influence of Ketu. Dusk of Thursday has special quality of time under influence of Rahu.  Regards Kulbir Bains ________________________________ rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani Tue, 9 February, 2010 4:25:13 PM Weekday for RK_LN  Dear Kulbir jee, Does LalKitab utilize Horas? Guest guest
So in your framework, each day has the same designation? But what if the diurnal reality changes? Say for instance if you were to be born in Stockholm or Reykjavik? Possible? Right?? Guest guest
Praaji, Hmm... very interesting framework and quite a departure from the simpler system described in Parashara Hora Shastra and generally followed by nearly all Jyotishis. Is there a book or article on the background of the creator of Lal Kitab, that is available. Kind of his birthdata, his biography -- what did he do before becoming a jyotishi, that sort of thing? Please feel free to write privately if this information cannot/should not be posted publicly. I will respect your privacy :-) Very interesting indeed! Guest guest
Sir, LAL KITAB’S AUTHOR. Pt. Rup Chand Joshi, born on 18th January, 1898 ( according to official records) some say actual date is 11-5-1898 in the home of Pt. Jyoti Ram Joshi, resident of Village Pharwala, Tehsil Noormahal, District Julundhar, Punjab. Pt Ji’s family had a good land holding They were basically agriculturists; nobody practiced astrology.  Pt. Ji was exceptionally good in studies and was rewarded with scholarships for 4th and 8th standard. He had a particular interest in linguistics and studied Urdu, English and Persian with great enthusiasm, he also excelled in mathematics. He was blessed with an exceptionally good handwriting and he continued to excel in it until his very end, was very fond of good quality pens and had a remarkable collection of expensive pens of all brands. After matriculation Pt. Ji. studied palmistry. He taught in a school but soon joined Defense Accounts Services. During the tenure of his service he was posted at Lahore, Shimla, Dharamshala, Chennai, Mumbai, Ambala etc.   Pt. Ji started his astrological journey with the study of palmistry. Thereafter he delved in astronomy and astrology and studied all the astrological works in detail. Deep meditation, concentration, elevated consciousness and keen observationled him to the conclusion that; when (as per the divine scheme) a soul enters the womb of the mother, the graph of its karmic record also accompanies it. In the first stage, the brain of the foetus develops, the karmic records' graph influences the development of the brain, this development of brain, ( he divided it into 42 psychological divisions) in turn is instrumental in further extension i.e. giving shape to various limbs and organs of the body, palm, lines and mounts on the palm. This karmic graph can also be deciphered by drawing a horoscope coinciding with the time of birth of the child. When a soul gets shape of a body the planetary influence also manifests itself in the native's surroundings, his relatives, animate and inanimate things that accompany or are to accompany him. So vaastu, face reading, body structure, body language, handwriting analysis, eating habits, behavioural pattern, relatives, articles, etc. all were synchronized to see the pattern and this system was called Samudrik (oceanic; all inclusive) system.  He published two books in 1939 and 1940 respectively. He involved poetry in his third book published in 1941. Thereafter two more books were published in 1942 and 1952 respectively. These books were distributed on no profit – no loss basis. He was careful even to a single paisa. The books featured the name of Pt Rup Chand Joshi’s cousin (son of his parental uncle) Pt. Girdahari Lal as the publisher and Pt Atma Ram Sharma, resident of village Rahan, Tehsil Noorpur, District Kangra as the calligrapher. No name of author was mentioned.  He retired from service as Assistant Accounts Officer. After his retirement Pt. Ji continued the practice of astrological consultancy full fledged at his native village. He continued with agriculture also. Pt Ji was always thinking, I would like to say meditating. He was a whimsical person. At times he looked out to be a simple villager but at the same time, he was also found of latest suits and conversed fluently in flawless English. Since he was in constant touch with British during most of his service, He inculcated such mannerism. Although he had himself authored the books but he never gave his opinion on any horoscope without reading from the book. He passed away on 24th December 1982.  As happens in such cases people in order to give importance to themselves ascribe myths to such legends. Many myths came to be associated with him.  But I have written the information that I believe in.  Regards Kulbir Bains ________________________________ rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani Wed, 10 February, 2010 6:11:30 PM Re: Weekday for RK_LN  Praaji, Hmm... very interesting framework and quite a departure from the simpler system described in Parashara Hora Shastra and generally followed by nearly all Jyotishis.
