Argha,

there r many tools in the path of Jyotishya Ayanamsa is one of them

Lahiris is based on chaitra paksha

ramans on revathi Paksha

there r references to revathi or Pisca Zeta precision fixed by the ancient

rishies well before raman or his grand father were born, books in late 17th

century do draw attn to it so does cheiros work on the methods of Indian rishes

[not mentioned the ayanamsa though but the equinox's precession with no

sophisticated aids]

and there r 33 different ayanamsas inthe country some close to one another some

radicaly different hence the commitee set toreview it was given to LAHIRI who

set his own ONE AND IT IS A Standard

else like different Imans inthe country who the crecent of the moon at diff days

and diff holidays in India

Hindus too had such problems so giving Giovt holidays was a big problem so came

the NCL as a baisis for standard something is better than nothing

and Jyotish works more onthe dharmic, intution and karmic principles of the

person asking, person guiding and almightys blessings at the given moment all

the rules, tools do help in the direction.

Doubts on Ayanamsa

Dear Seniors,

I my recent jyotish class my teacher didn't reply elaborately to my question

raised on - reasons behind different " Ayanamsa correction " . His short reply

citing findings of " Lahiri Commitee " and research by K N Rao, didn't satisfy

me. Are there texts which elaborate findings by B V Raman to propose his own

and thus contradicting others.

Looking forward for a guiding reply.

Best Regards,

Argha Basu,

Student - Jyotish Program,

Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi.
