I was almost in the same boat as you...i had applied for ms in us and got admissions as well, but dropped plans in the last minute due to fear of recession and all that stuff...as for ur admissions, german unis are not as bad as you think and you need to convince yur parents that they are as good as any other universities...you need to pursue yur passion and not what you are forced to do... you can also try your luck in indian universities (GATE...i guess u must be knowing)...there are many good iits here in india as well... sorry for the not-that-astrological help, but hope u make a well informed decision.... with regards...
