If your intentions are pure, for the good results are different. If one has malafide intentions, one can never bear the right fruit. Mantra Jap is never done to satisfy ego, to seek power or increase your effect in this world. Sattvik Jap & Sattvik Bhav is necessary. Guest guest Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 The basics of Sadhana that i have been taught is not to reveal what sadhana one is doing to others or like general public (forums), if one does then the sadhana does not fructify. I presume this has been written in books too.What use is learning astrology if predictions are done through aid of non astro methods. The intention then shifts from learning and utilising the pure science/shastra to just making predictions which usually is a self gratifying exercise and most astrologers fall into this trap, even big wigs in astrology have so much of ego. The worst part is a true astrologer will understand after learning the science that ego has no role to play in ones life rather goes on a destructive phase but instead astrologers have ego that means they have not UNDERSTOOD the science.Even when one reads the Nadis where the 7 rishis are discussing a chart and Goddess Parvati is the Host, one observes very clearly that when they debate they do so with astrological rules & none of the rishis says my intuition is telling this thats the reason i predicted so and so for the native. I always think did not the rishis have enough sadhana to make correct predictions without even seeing the chart or say going into detail, but no the Rishis debated on basis of astrological grounds and not on some power or intuition. Maybe they understood the meaning of astrology better than us & carried the tradition of true jyotishi.I do not know how far this is true as i have heard it from a friend who knew - the late Richard Hock, the great jyotishi who could predict the date of events with fantastic accuracy, was asked which mantra he uses for his predictions he said Maths.
