Rashi5.doc - Use of Abuse language

Dear Kaul ji,

Please edit the Rashi5.doc and remove the entire name calling from it - otherwise the document will get deleted from the files section of the forum. Discuss the subject, and not the individuals. Insulting people is not scholarly and is not appreciated in this group (even if info input is good) - you are yet to give any great original contribution to Science, Astronomy or any other subject as well. So please edit the document and upload it again.

 

Note: There is a lot of difference between journalistic review and original research.

Suhbash Kak who have done much original research in many fields (especilly in science, comparison of sidhu-saraswati script with brahmi etc) is respectable individual and the use of language such as

=> Messrs Subhash Kak & Company would be "enjoying" the "dog days"

and similar are nothing but uncultured and uncivilized statements; a reflection of psychic, wavering mind; which insult people for no reason. Use of such abuse language will not be appreciated and may cause your banning as well, even though I have no objection against your opinion being against Vedas or predictive astrology.

It neeeds a corrrection. I do not know how you got the impression

that I am against the Vedas! On the other hand, I am one of the

staunchest believers in the Vedas which includes Brahamanas,

Upanashiadas and the Vedangas. I have gone through all of them, and

with all humility, bow my head in reverence to the Seers for their

highest realms of wisdom. On a practical and down to earth level,

if they were able to calculate tithi and nakshatras apart from the

Witner Solstice and other Cardinal points besides all the twelve

solar and lunar (nay even adhika and kshyaya-masa)as back as 14th

century BCE, or even 3000 BCE (there is a mention of adhika masa in

the Rigveda as well!), without the aid of even simple calculators,

but just with the help of gnomon and " time keepers " like " water-

pitchers " etc. etc., it certainly testifies to their real knowledge

about the real Vedic calendars. As such, personally, I would be the

last person in the world to have any doubts about the acumen of the

real Vamadevas as against today's Vamadevas, whose only

qualification is to call themselves " Vedic jyotishis " .

 

Regarding editing Rashi5.doc, I shall go through it again and see if

it contains any persnal derogatory remarks about anyone out of sheer

vendetta instead of any academic intransigencies and certainly

delete them if it is the former.

Thanks for the following assuarance.

Let us please keep the documents clean of the 'strong language' at

least for the documents that would be uploaded in this group for the

benefit of all.

There are many people who out of shear interest or fascination

dedicate their whole life for the study of some subjects such as

Vedas, Upanishads, Tantras, astronomy, astrology, Indian History and

so on. You, Subhash Kak, Chnadra Hari and many other individuals (some

greater than these mentioned names and some smaller ones) are just

some of them.

Our efforts may or may not materialize - but the fascination

persists. Thanks for the post. Let me correct the said sentence as

" even though I have no objection against your opinion being against

Vedic astrology or predictive astrology in general "
