Dear Kaul ji,

Ha...Ha... agreed. :) By the way, I have downloaded those exes from

your group, but don't have the password, and don't know how to use

them as well.

If you would like can you provide the password to use these files to

me? you can mail it the password to: sreesog(at). But if you

don't want to share the same with me, I will accept it with full regard.

Love,

Sreenadh

Shri Sreenadhji,

Namaskar!

The passwords and operating methods are on the Hinducalendar forum

itself! In any case, password for " Ganesh " program is Mahesh or

MAHESH or mahesh. Similarly, for Mahehs program it is Ganesh or

GANESH or ganesh.

Just put the icons of the programs on desktop. Double click them.

Ganesh and Mahesh programs are virtually same the only difference

being that Mahesh will yield the planetary longitudes etc. for a

particular moment that you provide it with and also include Delta

Time corrections if supplied by you.The rest is a cakewalk since you

have just to provide the information you are aked for.

You will get the sayana as well Laahiri nirayana longitudes of the

sun, moon, Mean Rahu besdies the latitude, RA and Declination of

Moon and Declination and RA of the sun for any day/time from 10000

BCE to 12030 AD. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga karna, var --- five

elements of Panchanga are also generated for 5-30 am IST for that

day. These are also both Sayana and Lahiri nirayana. You will be

able to generate even the mean longitudes of all the seven planets

besides Mean Rahu as per the old Surya Sidhanta, the current Surya

Sidhanta, the Aryabhati, the Sidhanta Shiromani vis-a-vis their

accuray or otherwise as compared to modern astronomy, both syana and

Lahiri nirayana. Thsi will provide you a practical proof as to what

type of a " marvellous " astrologer Varahamihira could be who had

praised the old SS as " spashtataro savitrah " .

Please do take into confidence the members of your forum about the

output.

I am sure you will agree wit me that it is really aunique program

not available anywhere else in the world!

Regards

Dear Kaul ji,

Congratulation for creating such a program! Thanks for providing

the password info as well. :)

<==

GREAT! Congratulations for the hard efforts put after creating such

a program! Coming to the planetary longitudes from " from 10000 BCE to

12030 AD " - What about the accuracy? When the formula is used to

calculate the planetary longitude of far past or future years, the

accumulated error will become so large and the out put of the program

won't be accurate. Any one can see it if compare the planetary

longitude results BC 2000 or so using Parasara Light and Jagannatha

Hora at the same time. JH7.0 full version provides up to BC 5000 or

near I think.

<==

Oh!..Oh!..Here things could go wrong. The accuracy of the program

wil totally depend on our understand and interpretation of these

texts.. If we commit a mistake on the same..the same will get

reflected the program as well...(Since a program can not be

intelligent by itself). Interpretation of Old Sury Sidhanta is a a

which at many places even the original translator of this

astronomical work failed to understnd...ChandraHari's works now

provided me the idea that this was text of a different class for

which the foundation values and the method employed would be vastly

different..

Thus even if we get right or wrong values (compared to today's

system) as the output of such a program; then to there could be the

following pitfalls-

1) The program gives values that readily tally with the current

astronomy.

* Text might be right, and we might have rightly interpreted it -

resulting in a right output!

* Text might be wrong, and we might have wrongly interpreted it -

resulting in a right output!

2) The program gives values that does not tally with the current

astronomy.

* Text might be right, and we might have wrongly interpreted it -

resulting in a wrong output!

* Text might be wrong, and we might have rightly interpreted it -

resulting in a wrong output!

So the point melts down to our understanding of the ancient system

of astronomical mathematics. If it is right, then our interpretation

of these texts would be. If not it won't be.

As of " spashtataro savitrah " is concerned I feel that the statement

is current because, here I have many values derived based on 'Surya

Sidhanta' as provided by Chandra Hari, which tells us that the

statement was to the point, and accurate. The trouble must be with

the interpretation logic used - i.e. our understanding of the text.

I am no expert to shed more light on the same - but may be Chandra

Hari could.

Yes, with pleasure! This is a unique research attitude and effort,

which should definitely be appreciated. Thanks for the program,

password, and also for this beautiful explanation of the use and

purpose of the same.

Hi Seetharama ji,

Join the " HinduCalender " and download those programs

from the files section of the forum. It is that easy. :) The link to

HinduCalender group is: HinduCalendar/

Please don't forget to express your gratitude to AKK for providing

these programs to the world for free as well.
