Guest guest
Dear Kiran ji, This is a question, already answered numerous times in this group! Note this - Exaltation means 'Sign of Exaltation' - the whole sign should be considered exalted as per Brihat prajaptya. The apt word that should be used for the 'degree of maximum exaltation' in Sanskrit is "Paramocha"; we are erroneously replacing the word "Paramocha" with "Ucha" (i.e. 'maximum degree of exaltation' with the simple word 'exaltation') for the sake of simplicity and due to that causing confusion to ourselves!!!! So follow and use the terminology as the sages put it - and then there is no confusion, because then it is clear that - * The degrees given in texts are 'maximum degree of exaltation' (Paramocha) * And the signs mentioned are 'Sign of exaltation' (Uchha) We are speaking about 7th house; house = sign; The words house and sign mean the same as per ancient indian astrology (as per Mihira, Krishneeya, Saravli, Parasara, Yavana). So there is no need to mention degrees - whether it be 1 degree or 29 degree Saturn is in 7th and the results will manifest for sure; that is the approach of ancient indian astrology. No need for any confusion or doubt on this. ==> > In chapter 3 of phaladeepika by mantreswara, he has calculated shadbala where even nearby rasis/houses get points for closeness to exalation sign. <== Forget Phaladeepika - it is a later day text; and there is no use of shadbala in Rishi horas; so forget it as of now; and don't bring-in new parameters. Note: I am not saying that Shadbala is useless; it is useful; but here it is out of context, and is NOT necessary. Love and regards, Sreenadh , Kiran R <kiran.rama wrote:>> In all cases, it is seen that planet in its exaltation sign gives good results irrespective of being benefic/malefic.> > But exaltation happens at a particular degree in the sign/rasi:> e.g: Saturn is exalted in Libra at a particular sign.> What if Saturn is like 1 degree away from Libra in Virgo?
