Guest guest
Hi All, Read the following statement - ===================Jaimini is predominantly practiced in the Andhra Pradesh area of India, mostly as a somewhat secret tradition, but its governing principles are also discussed in detail in the encyclopedic compendium of astrological techniques, Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra (BPHS). The Jaimini factors are not referred to specifically as Jaimini indicators in BPHS. - by Gary Gomes (Gangadhara Girish/Swami Kampananda) (from http://www.bava.org/private/structure.htm) or ( from http://www.astrologyguild.com/jaiminispiritual.htm)===================== I belive the above statement is true and also that it originated in the south indian state AP, that too long AFTER the origin of KTPY system in 4th century AD by Vararuchi in Kerala. Possibly this text (and most possibly the current BPHS as well) originated between 14th to 17th century. It seems that BPHS is an "old text modified" and Jaimini sutra "a new text created". Dear AP astrologers - what is your understanding about the HISTORY and use about this system erroneously attributed to Jaimni and Parasara in Andhra Pradesh? What is the oldest reference available; and which is the oldest datable commentary available on the same? Please share the info.Love and regards,Sreenadh
