Venus is what we are attracted to, in a man's chart his ideal women and Mars in a female chart, her ideal man. Along with it's rulers (lords) and aspects show what we are attracted to and value in a partner and also what we tend to attract to us as well. Venus is also about what we love. Mars, on the other hand, is the action planet. He's the warrior God and shows us "how" we sex our partner. Mars is the physical action of the sexual act and how we "respond" and act sexually with our partner. The 5th House is also the house of sexuality and romance. The 5th house is how we pursue that which we desire and once we have it, we sex it in the 8th house. Sex is what happens in private act that occurs between two people and the major reason why the 8th House is so associated with Sex is due to the Sign Scorpio. The 5th house is the house of creation and the creative aspect of romance. The 8th is what actually turns one on sexually. person's sexual identity. Whenever the 5th and 8th are interacting with each other in some way, we can assume that, sexuality is very important in the life of the native. Notice how the 5th and 8th are always square each other; the square signifies tension, and without tension, there can be no good sex. :-) Insight into one's sexual behavior and what turns them on can usually be seen by the sign on the 5th , its ruler, any planets in the 5th, and/or any aspects either makes to other planets within the horoscope. We discussed Saturn in house 5 in another thread but didn't touch upon this important note. Generally Saturn and Neptune, when acting together and impacting the 5th House, greatly diminishes the sexual capacity and interest. Usually the involvement of Uranus tends to intensify capacity and interest sexually and is also very experimental and less traditional. Therefore, no sex and sexual desire = no children. In my experience, any aspect from Pluto to Venus or Mars intensifies sexual attractiveness, sexual desire, sexual behavior and sexuality in general. Pluto is the most sexual planet.
