Dear Rameshji,

//while during mensus the body is actually cleansing //

Exactly what I said.

If they go out during such times, specially after sunset, they are more vulnerable to getting possessed, attacks by spirits, or getting affected by black magic done by jealous relatives. So if the old generations asked the ladies to stay inside, they knew what they were talking about. I have other reasons too, but would not put forth here, as not interested in prolonging this thread.

Bhaskar.

Correct!

My wife as a HR professional handles the queries of the BPO ladies, who bunk

work during the night shift regularly!

Some connection of course!

This might have the same superstition of carrying nails/iron key, with non veg

food? Prevalent in Maharastra at least. Didnt see in Calcutta where I was born

and grew up. My dad used to pack fish curry, almost everyday all along, even if

it sent by maid. But I was surprised one Babu Khan in Ahmedabad, runs a small

joint closer to IIM, when he packed fish curry for us to take back to hostel,

asked us to take carefully!!? (understood)

Well Amma was sure about, food cooked with good intent to service you will not

spoil! Whatever it might be. She even answered on the creation, of evolution

from monkeys. (not sure myself, how a drop of blood can become wine!)

God creates something, gives knowledge and allows it to grow.. (Something like

Bruce Almighty movie)

I am told when she visited Kangeyam, in Tamilnadu for a discourse those young

days 70s, she had delayed the trip by 2 days, as she was stopped all the way

along by devotees, and the anna dhana that was done, had food cooked 2 days

before, without spoiling! (could not authenticate this story though). Noted for

next visit, when she returns back to India and if I get an audience.

Amma Saranam!

Regards

Ramesh
