Dear Learned astrologers,

What would be the combinations in a Horoscope where a husband or wife are not able to receive complete Love from their partners, and they are waiting for true Love to appear in their Lives , without wanting to become unfaithful to their spouses, and also without going out of the way to search for Love which would satisfy them , at the same time, ready, if true Love appears, to take it, again without wanting to leave their partners ???

1)  Any girl born in the combination of Saturday, Aslesha, dwithiya thithi.

2)  Any girl born in the combination of Sunday, Sathabisha and Dwadesi thithi

3)  Any girl born on Tuesday in Vishaka Nakshathra  and Sapthami thithi,

4)  If a Benefic as well as a malefic planet occupy the Ascendant and two

malefiocs are in the sixth house, the girl born, is a Visha Kanya.

5)  If a girl is born when the Sun is in the 5th house, Saturn is in Lagna, and

Mars occupies the 9th house, she will ba a 'Visha Kanya'.

day or if Lunar day is 12th falling on Sunday ruled by Karthika the gir becomes

'Visha kannika'

These Dosha's will be nullified , if the Lord of the 7th house or a powerful

Yes, there should be several combinations. It appears to me that there is one

such combination where a marriage would not last (ie.should come to end within

a few years, sometimes peacefully and at other times not so peacefully), if

their horoscopes show an " Ari Shadastaka " , yet the partners would not think of

remarrying if Brihaspati has dristi in the 7th house in the horoscope of one or

both the parties.

Dear Pathiji,

 

Some astrologers believe that if Brihaspati (unless debilitated) is in the 10th

house in a girl's horoscope then she is Mahalakshmi. This of course appears to

be a very general rule. Can this have any effect on the Visha-kanya yoga.?

Males born in this dosha is also known as those who born with visha kanya dosha ( at least in kerala astrology ) and marriage between such dosha ppl is advised to cancell the dosha .

I know a living exmple in kerala .

The man was born in friday and poorvashada ( pooradam ) Nakshatra ( in sagitarious sign -owned by venus(because north indian Nakhstra names i may go wrong ),he was a small time contractor who does road works and unmarried ,while he was enquired by some old man he told him this problem and old man remembered that his grand daughter is also having the same dosha .And their marriage is happened .

And now they hav become one of the richest in kerala .With children and grand children ,I can say their life was good in terms of money ,status and rajayogas .And all this happened after marriage ,other wise both were frm below poverty strata of society those days .

Dear Renuji,

 

The opposite of " kanya " is " brahmachari " . I do not think the yoga

goes by that name for men, as far a I heard it gives the same effects

for men and women.

 

There is a popular hindi movie song of yester years, if you are not

aware- tu baal brahmachari, main hoon kanyakumari- meaning, you are a

young brahmachari and I am a kanya girl.

" Purush " is the word which can be used to express the opposite of kanya.

It can also be used in another sandharb, to express mankind.

On the lighter side, it shows that males are weak and females are powerful.

I have a book stree jatka written by Smt.kadalangudi saraswathi of chennai/

the book describes only abt females ie placement of malefics in the female

chart. 9 right from satwic nature to lesbian and prostitutes are described based on the

placement of malefics in the chart) Trimsamsa chart in relation to natal chart. More importance are given for females rather than males. For eg if a male in the familybecomes a drunkard

Thanks for the living example of a married couple both having Visha

Kanya Yoga, but leading a successful life.

 

This proves that any malefic yoga applicable to women are also

applicable to men, though in some texts they are read as if only

since many Hindi song hits are popular here too

 

But I wonder whether Brahmachari is the correct word for

this. 'Kanya' means a virgin, as to my knowldege, and brahmachari

need not be a virgin. Anyway I was more concerned about the

VKY...and thanks for your response.

Yes, Brahmachari is the right opposite for Kanya. Brahmachari is that

stage of the life of a man,When he vows to be a celibate, while kanya

is the time the girl is a virgin, after marriage, the brahmachari

becomes a Grahastha. The greatest Brahmachari ever known

was " Bheeshma Pitamah " of Mahabharat. I am sure, Sunil Nairji would

explain this much better than me.

 

Regardibg the hindi song, if you got to www.smashits.com, and put

brahmachari in the song search, you can find the song which I

mentioned. You can enjoy the golden oldies

What I thought was though virgin is a girl untouched by a man and

brahmachari is a celebate man, which can be at any stage of

life...even after marriage.

 

I searched for the song in the website given...but could not find

Dear all,

I dont think that ' brahmachari' can be the exact opposite of " Kanya ".

The brahmachari word immediately sends a single that this person is not going to marry. While using the word kanya, nobody thinks so.

In normal life too, we never use the word 'bramachari' for the boy who is not married uptil now. But we use the word "Kanya' often.

" Brahmachari' word is strictly meant to suggest a celibate. it does not suggest that there is going to be change in this status. while we talk of " Kanya " no one thinks that she is not going to marry.

since i was not searching for the opposite word for kanya, do not ask me what it is. i do not know. but i am not satisfied with this word bramachari as its opposite.

Dear Renuji,

 

That is the beauty and greatness of women. If " kanya-hood " is lost,

it is lost for ever. A man has to control his senses and not

lose " anything else " to lose his brahmachari stage. But even then,

once married he is referred to as grahastha, he will become a sanyasi

if he renounces his family but can practise brahmachari type of life

again, but women can never become a kanya again.

 

It is objectionable for a grahastha to renounce the family and return

to the family again, it is also considered a sin. The story of Sant

Jnyaneshwar highlights the importance of the duty of a grahastha and

brahmachari. My sanskrit teacher had vowed to be a brahmachari, he

never married, a double MA in english and sanskrit, all his life was

research in sanskrit, ancient works and not to mention take care of

his mother.

Dear Goelji,

It would take me some time to read , understand and comment on this paper. But I am sure it is good, and a result of hard work.

I normally follow other rules which just take few minutes to confirm whether the bride or the groom are suitable to each other. If it is found suitable then I would go further in checking the other matters to tell the parents of the boy or girl as the case may be.

For instance if a prospective grooms chart is sent to me by the girls father, i would first check the longevity of the boy, his next 20 years of professional life, whether he can earn comfortably, the compatibility factor , and lastly the gunas part and the Mars factor. I go in that order.

ancient times, these stages were mentioned in reference to

brahminhood, brahmin refers to learned class and not the caste. when

a male issue is born, upto age 7 he is not classified as anything,

age 7 becomes right for him to have his " upanayanam ceremony " , when

he is inculcated into the brahminhood and he is a brahmachari from

there, if he decides to be like that he is a brahmachari for life, if

he finds a girl, he should marry her and then become a grahastha.

 

At the time of marriage, the mantras that are chanted explain the

meaning of the stage very well. There is a point during the marriage

called going to " Kashi yatra " , here the groom tells everyone that he

wants to be a brahmachari and he is going to kashi, that time the

bride's father makes him up, offers his kanya to him " iyam.. mama

suta " and asks him to break is brahmachari stage. Each and every

mantra chanted during wedding highlights the significance
