Guest guest
From past few years, the science of Astrology has undergone a tremendous change, and it has also gained some reputation as well. Thanks to the new crop of news channels with a fancy crowd of tarot readers, coffee readers, self imposed psychics and unknown astrology experts. While these flamboyant people can be a serious source of amusement for a learned, they are treated as serious researchers by that layman out there. This is the part, which can really torment a sensitive brain. I mean, a mere look at those tarot readers can tell you that they are not even aware of basics of astrology and yet they are playing with everybody's emotions. And they are not the only people involved; media has also got a piece in the cake. If you are serious astrologer, you would really get baffled by the sway of commercialization in the purest spirit called astrology. I mean just look around you, a cell phone with a mantra ringtone, a newspaper with twelve predictions, spread for more than 100 Million population, a Short message service (SMS) alert for Future, a TV astrologer selling mantras as vegetables. It seems realization has gone very cheap. As cheap as a thirty bucks cassette with some lone singer's mantra engraved on the magnetic tape with all that incorrect pronunciation of Sanskrit syllables. Predictions are cheap as some pocket size booklet which you can purchase on any book outlet. Nobody even dares to talk about truth. Nobody is a culprit but except us, the common men. We have turned away the truth that something which is exceptional like a prediction cannot be so easy. We have turned away from the truth that molding the laws of nature cannot be as damn easy as a, thug's reading from that left over coffee in our cup. All this is happening because we wanted it that way. Think of those desperate parents who want to do anything to get their daughter married who is losing her age, think of that young lad who is not getting a permanent job, after so many distressed attempts in numerous companies. Our business, our laziness, our easy go disposition, has harvested and watered the so called crop of thugs. Everybody is running after the crispy paper from the mint house, no matter what one has to do, one just do it without looking for consequences. Sometimes I feel that the laws should be stricter in our country. So strict, that thugs can't run their shops. Astrologers should be charged thirty times of their fees, if the predictions go wrong. Tantrics should be charged fifty times of their fees, if results proclaimed do not materialize. But frankly, it will never happen. After all this is the system. Everybody is a part of this system. A newest example is those (So called) saints, who were exposed in a sting operation. They were charging commissions for turning the black money to legitimate money. None of those culprits were caught. They are still out, still spreading their pravanchans (preaching) on those money hungry channels. This is the dilemma, the same population which considered them culprits after the sting, now consider them saints. Our memories have weakened, may be because it is outside our family. It does not matter to us, because none of us got involved directly in it. So, no need to stop them. But one day, this virus will definitely enter our lives and then it will be too late. Turn me off, but on that day, there will be no panacea. Alok Jagawat

Guest guest
Dear Alok, a goOd post, this trend is part of our psyche now be it, law and order, auto /taxi fares, prices in shops or even a crime, accident we r not bothered as long as it is not directly affecting us and we feel bad when we r in such a position and others not responding though at times recently Mumbai has seen some good social responsibilities sharing in man made and natural crisis a welcome sign but with astrology it is a different one as we come from a communist scripted education system which decries all that is Hindu as primitive, obscurantist etc and glorifies all our Invaders and yet has reservations on anything USA. some people come out of curiosity, some in a deep crisis after burning their hands and left with little resources so will explore this branch of wisdom some may feel nervous to know more about them esp the bad ones as though it is a script that we have a choice in creating we r just interpreters isnt it? for these lot u have the packaged fiction with bare astrological terms and more nonsense. worse than adulterated life saving drugs [they will at least kill the patient definitely] the quacks that th TV channels prop up again r the communist based channels and it i their job to bring jokers and baffoons to show this subject has nothing in it, that is all they r having fun at the cost of a useful tool in analysing markers, law and order, marital lives, health patters, agricultural, weather and many more branches as B V RAMAN, GAYATHRI DEVI VASUDEV, DKN RAO, LACCHAN DAS ETC HAVE DONE SO FAR i have seen KN Rao's being intervied but never allowed to speak on NDTV but critics of astrology like prof yashpal sharma hogging, hecling the limelight and the leftist moderators poking fun at him, such a learned man, even when he is offering to read any case there live they said v r better off without it but all from NDTV do go to the great baffon who has max number of books dubbed astrological a shame the books r written by ghost writers and his speech shows it as he can't make a single sentence properly except use Ganapathi says... and again Bakwas in name of astrology but it is time we expose such writers both when they come onTV or in news paper columns else people will lose the great subject for real, we must contribute some articles of interest to public and remain in focus not politics anything else is better KN RAO's Relience world cup weather forecast was great for example he had given clearly 6 months before 2 games will be rained out with the venue before hand and was published in National herald it did rain out a said by SRI KNRAO we also need to share such forecasts for public good I hope members see my bomb threat message I have done some analysis and also have some suggestions on what can be done a few days ago not worried if it happens or not what we must do is warn our neighbourhood, cops people must take turns and watch their areas and be safe than sorry thanks prashant kumar On Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 3:28 PM, Sreenadh <sreesog wrote: > Dear Alok ji, > That was a nice write-up. Guest guest
Dear Prashant Ji, People who seek predictions from astrologers do not know what they are asking for. My mentor use to tell me that each time a prediction is out, an astrologer loses his Punyansh. Your Sadhna, your Sidhhi your Punyas manifest in form a true prediction. But truth it seems has become cheaper now. Lt.Shri Patel Sahib was cheated so many times by so many people who called themselves astrologers. But he being a humble soul never reacted against anything. Modesty is taken as a weakness by some people. But they often forget that there is a bigger and stronger power that looks after everything. So a true astrologer never reacts in such forms. But, I believe I am not a saint. I am not so humble, as I should be. I am still learning and sometimes I come out of hibernation. Felt good that I am not alone.
