* Apr 26, 1986 (Sat)

* Time: 1:23

* Place: Ukraine (current), Chernobyl

* Coordinates: 30¡ë E 14' x 51¡ë N 16'

* Time Zone: -3 from Greenwich (DST in effect)

Kala software shows Lagna as Sc 29 whereas Jhora shows 12 Sg, which one is correctPls guidebest wishesSunil

Dear Sunil ji,

 

In 1986 the standard time in Ukraine was + 3hr [ east of GMT ].

Currently it is + 2hr [ east of GMT ].{ source www.astro.com}

 

Therefore when working out a horoscope with 1: 23 am on April 26,

1986 you have to use the standard time zone as +3 hrs [ east of GMT ]

and you can do either of the three things :

 

[ a ] put time of birth as 1: 23 am and put time zone 4 hr east of

GMT [ which includes the DST ]

 

OR

 

[ b ] Put the time of birth as 0: 23 am [ deducting 1 hour of DST ]

and the time zone as 3hr east of GMT

 

OR

 

[ c ] Put time of birth as 1:23 am ; time zone 3 hrs east of GMT ;

and DST 1 hour

 

In all the three formats above the Ascendant comes to 29Sc10 with

Lahiri ayanansha.
