Dear Bhagavathi ji,

Nice article...and liked the following para very much.

//The malefic influences in our chart generally deliver to us our negative, undesirable karma during the times of their dashas and transits. While this is true from an astrological standpoint, it's our attitude about change that's important. Our happiness is internally based not externally. "People are disturbed not by things, but by the view they take of them," writes Greek philosopher Epictetus in the 1st century B.C. Astrology reveals the likely outcome of our external situation but not our internal reaction to it. That is our choice, moment to moment. We either choose to be 'victims of our fate' or we rise above it. We either look for the 'silver lining', the 'blessing in disguise', the 'opportunity for growth,' or we just continue feeling like it really, actually, totally and justifiably 'sucks.' //

blessings,

Renu

Dear Bhagavati ji and group,With due respect to Sh R. Santhanam and Vaughn Paul, there is more to it than what appears to be. No MD/AD/PD lord is singularly responsible to give results. And it is not always that the lord of a house gives its own results. No single house is responsible for any event in life. If there is one primary house for any happening, as per classics, there are at least 2-3 secondary houses which are also associated with it. Unless we try to understand the dynamics of the houses and planets activated by dasha and their strength to give results, we cannot derive the results. If he has was initiated under some gurus and was learning vedic astrology as per shastras, the 9H has to play its role.

In modern times, all areas have expanded as we have a host of options available. This is also the reason why it is also becoming difficult to pin point things like profession, education, income, etc. Astrology was connected with 9H as a guru and higher learning was involved. Now with e-gurus and a study which can hardly be called higher, we may not see 9H playing a role in producing and astrologers. Instead of 2H of Vaani, we may have 3H of typing which is more important to be a successful astrologer?

8H is connected with astrology in being a house of research, metaphysical studies, occult etc. But how the study was initiated and under what circumstances, can only be seen through the interplay of other lords. We can only tell once we know the chart and dasha sequence.

We can have more opinions on this.RegardsNeelam

Dear Vijayji,

Yes, this is interesting info. I have been associated with astro

since childhood because of parampara but actually started learning

only in the dasha/antara of my 8L.

Dear Neelamji,

I agreee here,

Success in Higher studies like astrology can only come through the 9th

house.

Interest in astro studies can come through the 8th House of Occult.

Just like the 8th house is showing extra marital sexual unions, but the

marriage is seen only from the 7th house.

The inerplay og houses has to be there essentially for any event to take

place, otherwise it cannot happen .

The 6th can only show disputes and incompatibility in marriage for

instance, but the 8th or 12th Lords running together as dasha Lords

will show actual Divorce.

The 5th will show interest in sepculations, but if conjoined with the

11th or the 2nd then only will it show gains, if the 5th is conjoined

with the 8th, then only Losses.

This is the right way to judge actually.

We just cannot blame or give weight to any single lord for events

unfolding in ones Life.

regards/Bhaskar.

Dear Neelamji,

I started studying Astrology in the Dasha of the Atmakaraka Venus, in

1982-1983 , who is seated in the 9th House in my Chart.

I passed out from Bhartiya Vidya Bhuvan, Bombay for one of their astro

courses, during the Dasha of the 9th Lord Mars.

Dear Neelamji,

Of course this fulfills the condition.

Which is what i menat in my previous mail, that if the other benefic

houses are conjoined , like 2 or 11, then only success is guaranteed,

otherwise not.

A single planet can do nothing much on its own, if not conjoined with

benefic houses or malefic houses.

Namaste Ms Bhagavathi ji,

I started learning / focussing on Astrology during my LL & 4HL Dasha

conjoined with 8HL.

In between I did learn / spend time in learning - palmistry & numerology

through my father's numerous temple contacts, for he headed

Archaeology-Conservation deptt. in India and he was well known for

knowledge on temple architecture and many temples received grants or

repairs or got listed in current ancient_monuments / temples

register..etc.

Primarily, my association with Hindu scriptures / spirituality was

present from childhood {3-4 yrs } days onwards with visits to various

Swamiji's and listening to their direct discourses and by age 18-19 yrs,

" finished " reading books of many well-known spiritual giants of

Hindu_India {as available in their respective libraries / ashrams}

before taking or joining with Yogoda Satsanga Society {YSS} of Ranchi

i.e. founded by author of Autobiography of a Yogi.

Dear Bhaskar ji,//Lords of 2,9,11 forming good aspects mutually among themselves and the great benefic Jupiter will offer the most desirable results to the astrologer and to the consultant. //

This is a statement from the KP Reader II. I know someone who has 2,9,11 lords conjoined in lagna in jupiter’s sign, and Jupiter in 11th in parivartan with 11L. Do you think this connection fulfils the condition given in the reader? He started studying astrology in the antar of 9L.

Dear Vijay ji,

You said -

// I started learning astrology in the antar dasa of planet in 8th house. Before that i was having only interest but not studies anything seriously. //

You have Budh in the 8th House, but Budh in Your Horoscope represents the 9th house strongly, and will give you effects of only the 9th House.

I leave it to you, to figure out how it represents the 9th house. What astrology you people are into, is not real astrology, but all paper-talk.

In case you cannot figure out how Budh represents the 9th house, let me know. I willl provide some spoon feeding. But try at least before reverting back to me.

Bhaskar.

Astrology was connected

with 9H as a guru and higher learning was involved.

Dear members,

As per my observation 12th lord is capable of giving astrological knowledge, because it is in Trina to 8th house privided it should have some links with Mercury and Jupiter.--- On Mon, 3/2/09, chiranjiv mehta <vchiranjiv wrote:

Dear Bhaskar ji,Thank you for your confirmation. I find the principles of KP quite useful when logically applied with traditional.Various houses have to get involved as the houses only will indicate where the purushartha for a particular karma is being applied or is likely to be applied.

I would like to quote from Sh. KN Rao here, who gives the following points to understand the link between karma and astrology (these can be applied to any area of life and suitable inferences can be drawn):1. All houses represent four purusharthas or efforts viz. dharma (religious conduct), artha (earnings), kama (desires) and moksha (salvation).

2. The lords of these houses, planets in them and planets aspecting them excite into action those purusharthas.3. It happens in the dasha concerned. When the above is applied to study/practice of astrology, it will indicate where the purushartha of the native directed wrt astrology.

Thanks and RegardsNeelam2009/3/1 Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish

Dear Neelamji,

Of course this fulfills the condition.

Which is what i menat in my previous mail, that if the other benefic

houses are conjoined , like 2 or 11, then only success is guaranteed,

otherwise not.

A single planet can do nothing much on its own, if not conjoined with

benefic houses or malefic houses.

Bhaskar.

Dear Bhaskarji,

Agree, in my chart 8L is also the 9L. The question here is only

initiation to learn astrology. I actually started it when I was having

8H effects, which I could feel that time. The 9H will be for success

and long term achievement. You have my chart now, all through my Rahu

dasha I have only been studying, except my rahu/venus antara, when I

only worked but that was also a research job. I have started studying

again.

I wish to clarify that this 8H/astro theory is not propounded by me. It

is by someone who is highly recognized in astrology and deserves

respect. It cannot be just shunned

Regards,

bhagavathi

Dear Bhagwathi ji,

I know the 8th House is important in the Occult sciences and I know its

not propounded by You . I know the 8th houses's importance is very much

there for certain matters in Occult.

But those who have studied Horary strology, also know that when their

Moon lands in the 8th house of their Chart, they must cease to predict

on those 2 1/2 days. This must connect to something... which I will not

elaborate presently.

// all through my Rahu > dasha I have only been studying //

Madam, Look at your chart again.

Your Rahu is in the 9th house .

Respected Bhagavatiji,

2,5,8,11th house is the houses of future.

2nd house indicate storage for future.

5th house provides future planning.

8th house. since 7th house is the house of highest knowledge therefore

8th house indicate knowledge through future can be depicted. death is

the process for future birth.

11th house is final earnings again future of 10th house.

So your research is at the right path.

Any connection to these house and other factors will indicate Jyotish.

Thankyou,

Vijay Goel

Dear Bhagavathi ji,

I agree with you on the study of astrology being an 8th

house gift as said by KN Rao ji. I too started reading up on astrology in my

moon dasa. My moon is in 2nd house (aspecting 8th) along with

mercury, my 8th lord. So my moon is deeply influenced by mercury the

8th lord, and moon dasa saw many combined influences of 8th

house and 9th house.

With regards,

smitha
