Dear Bhaskar-ji, Sreenadh-ji and other seniors,

I do have J-Hora 7.0 & the J-Hora 7.02.

I noticed that there is some difference in the degree of planets and

Lagna in given by two versions. Also the dasha-bhukti differs.

I remembered that once Rohiniranjan-ji ( I assume that some members

are aware of him...his writings are available in Boloji.com and Crystal page)

had remarked that for accuracy, Astrodienst is his personal preference.

So, I checked the data from J-Hora Version 7.0 against Astrodienst.

There was a remarkable difference in the ascendant and degree of planets.

(The test date was 2nd Apr, 1840)

Then I remembered that Hank Freidman (Soulhealing.com) does have some

writing about accuracy of software. It gives position of planets and degree of

ascendant (Tropical positions) for a particular date & time for particular city.

One is supposed to cross-check against these data to check the accuracy of

his own software. The site also comments that if the is difference of 1' (1 minute)

or more, the software accuracy is unacceptable.

J-Hora V 7.0 failed the test ..the difference was of about 1 degree.

After all these attempts, I had writen to you.

regards

Dear Chakroborty ji,J.Hora is one of the worlds best Softwares, without doubt. But i havenever ever made any chart on the PC for birth charts before 1925 (Maximum ), so am not aware of the efficiency of the data before thesame. But you can calculate the same manually within 20 minutes to half anhour , if its very important and if you ahve the ephemeris for thatdate.regards,Bhaskar.>Messages in this topic (3)
