Mt.Meru and Kenyan /Tanzanian Mountains

here is what hindu puranas and epics ,jain philosophy and budhist

philosophy considers abt mt.meru which is also known as sumeru It is a blf which is considered as centre of all physical ,metaphysical and spiritual universes. It is believed to be the abode of Lord brahma and the Demi-Gods and deities .It is also blved that surya the sun-God, circumambulates Mount Meru every day.The

mountain is said to be 80,000 yojanas (several thousands of miles)

high and located in Jampudwipa , one of the continents in the hindu

mythological cosmology .surya sidhantha mentions it is in

bhugola madhya in jambudwipa not bhumadhya and hence not near equater

and it is not some mountain in kenya or tanzania which some people

propoagtes as if they got it as some secret frm some yogies .Narpatijayacharya, based on texts of Yamala Tantra ( koorma chakra adhyaya i blv ) , mentions "Sumeru Pritwi madhye shruyate drishyate na tu" (Su-meru is heard to be in the middle of the Earth, but is not seen there ). where as varahamihira locates Mt Meru at the North Pole ( pancha sidhanthika ) .some astro littearature considers as sumeru for North pole and kumeru for south pole toorgrds sunil nair
