Aspects from Nodes and Controversy

Dear All,

Just as I joined this group, Rahu in the 5th house was being discussed. Can I broach the subject of aspects from the Nodes? I know there is much controversy related to this subject. Can members please give their inputs on the same?

Personally I have had my teachers tell me the following different opinions:

1.The nodes do NOT cast any aspects since they are not real planets.

2. Rahu aspects 5, 7 & 9th house BUT Ketu casts no aspect since he has no head.

3. Both Rahu & Ketu cast aspects on 5, 7 & 9th houses.

4. Rahu & Ketu cast aspects on 5, 7 & 9th houses but IF conjunct Mars then additionally there is aspect on 4th and 8th houses as well.

I know there is one school of thought that also believes that Rahu aspects 2nd house from it as well, but I have not learnt directly from any one that practices that.

Dear Manoj ji,

I believe that Rahu casts aspect on 5,7 and 9. If conjunct with Mars

then on 4 and 8 as well.

Thereis no question of the Nodes not aspecting since they are not real.

If one considers them as effective if placed in a sign, which means

real, then one must also consider the, as effective when aspecting.

The above was traditional view if I look at the chart traditionally. But

if I look at the chart with KP method, then I would consider the aspect

only as the 7th, and conjunction only if within 4 degrees orb, the

conjuncting planet whether in same sign or not, does not matter.

These are my individual opinions as learnt from various Gurus.

Dear Manoj Chandran,

I agree with you. there is controversy for the aspect of R/K. I would like to add one more that Rahu cast aspect on 12th also being retrograde.

I shall be glad if we take up practical charts and discuss the same. I have offered my chart on the forum for the same as I have gone through the maha dasha of Rahu in childhood and faced the problems in my life. My Rahu is in 11th aspecting if you agree, on 5th.
