It is the measure to calculate the difference between the celestial sky and the terrestrial sky. When you read an astronomical magazine you are told to read for example that you will see that night the conjunction between the Moon and Aldebaran (called Rohini in India). Aldebaran is in the center of Taurus and that night you look at the sky for Taurus and see the Moon close to Aldebaran. However, if you read the ephemerides, the astronomy tables, you will see that Aldebaran is in Gemini at some 24 degrees difference. At present, there is a difference between the terrestrial sky and the celestial sky of some 24 degrees. To adjust that difference in skies the government of India hired the scientist Lahiri to calculate the ayanamsa and since 1965 the government of India officially recognizes the Lahiri ayanamsa.by Natabara New Email addresses available on Get the Email name you've always wanted on the new @ymail and @rocketmail.
