Dear Shashank,

i have spent many years wasting my time with those readers (KP readers) as

they are called. Later i regretted not having faith in Parasara and swore

that till my dying breath, my faith would be unflinching and that may sri

Vyasadeva guide my intellect in this right direction. When such questions

come to the mind, it is time to consider as to whether you are under some

influence of Rahu, else why would you consider comparing KP with Parasara?

Thus it is also time to recite your Guru Mantra more vigorously 'Hare Rama

Krishna'

Best Wishes

Namaste Sanjay ji,

I must respectfully disagree that the KP readers deserve a

blanket condemnation. I am glad to hear that you have spent your time

with them. I think the germ of great value within them deserves

resurrection from the obscuring factors such as the author's own

combative and misleading approach to laying out the main tenets of his

thought. But the substance of the thought is no more than an exposition

of concepts that are inherent in Parasara. He is primarily working with

the nakshatra dispositorships of planets, as do nadi jyotishis. His

innovation is the use of the " sub, " which is a simple extension of the

Vimsottari antardasa concept. Just as a Moon being at 27:46 Taurus will

give an initial Vimsottari dasa of Ma/Ju, so a Sun at 16:59 Leo can be

said to be in the nakshatra of Venus and the " sub " of Moon, or a Lagna

at 28:23 Sag can be said to be in the star of Sun and the sub of Moon.

Thus in the life events for Srila Prabhupad that you have explained in

COVA, one could further buttress and explain the same events through

their nakshatra dispositors and subs (not that they need more explaining

after your masterful exposition, I agree!) But just for illustration:

Death of father in 1930 in Jupiter dasa. One might ask how

can such a negative event ensue when in dasa of lagnesh in ninth with

nine lord in its own sign? You have explained it in COVA. But also:

Jupiter's nakshatra dispositor is Ketu, eclipsing the Sun in the ninth.

Jupiter's sub is Venus, a maraka for the father debilitated in the

tenth, second from father's first.

Death of mother in Rahu dasha. Rahu has problems you have

explained. Also Rahu is in star of Mars, a maraka for mother, and in

sub of Mercury, the exalted bhadakasthana lord for mother.

Serious burn in Mars dasha. Fiery Mars in nakshatra

disposited by Rahu afflicting lagnesh in ninth. Mars in sub of Saturn,

third lord and dispositor of Rahu.

Burn occurred in Venus antardasha. Venus is in star of

fiery Sun in ninth and in sub of Jupiter hemmed within fiery Ketu and

fiery Sun.

Religious activities began in Rahu/Rahu. Rahu is in star

of Mars in Gurupada and in sub of Mercury exalted Putrakaraka and lord

of Mantrapada.

Learning Sanskrit and initiation in Jupiter antara.

Jupiter is in star of Ketu associated with sattvic planets in ninth, and

in sub of Venus associating with exalted Mercury.

Birth of son and daughter in Jupiter dasa. Jupiter

associates with Ketu, agent of fifth lord Mars. Jupiter in sub of

Venus, associating with Putrakaraka dualistic Mercury.

Separated from wife in Mercury dasa. Mercury is

seventh lord associating with debilitated darakarak Venus.

Mercury is in star and sub of Moon, eighth lord gone to sixth, negating

seventh house and marital relations.

Departing for America in Mercury dasha. Mercury in star of

eighth lord shows change of country. Sub Moon in star of fifth lord

Mars shows teaching. Mars can show the rough nature of the students to

begin with.

Moksha in Ketu dasha. Ketu in own star in ninth accompanied

by Guru and Surya. Ketu in sub of Venus which is in sookshma exchange

with Surya. Surya in 12th from Mercury seventh lord negates return

shown by seventh house.

I hope there is nothing disrespectful or impure in this way of

reading planets. Please show me my mistakes if necessary.

Humbly yours

Sat Nam

Dear Sat Siri and Shashank ,

As a KP followed, let me add my view too.

I study KP at a time and timed events very accurately. There are so many techniques using all around the world to predict future. In fact, some Astrologers using their own techniques which cannot find in classics, yet doing wonderful job.

As far as my understanding, if we need predict future, time events, earn some money we can learn and use any of this modified techniques. But I strongly believe we are looking for the VEDIC KNOWLEDGE, and the techniques for self realization which can be obtained only through pure vedic philosophy given by rishis.

I have given up my KP and SA works after understand this. I think better have pure knowledge, instead stay in darkness.

Hare Krshna,

  • 8 years later...

Dear Lajmi ji,

i have always been fascinated by KP but havn't had the acumen to understand or

learn it.

just some very basic few questions.

Can one derive some general assessment of a horoscope unrelated to any specific

question in kp....or is study of chart in kp always related to some pointed

question?

what is more important...the nakshatra of the lagna or nakshatra of the moon?

why is sub lord so important in kp?

what is the heirachy of importance among lord of the sign, lord of the

nakshatra, lord of the graha?

do all kp astrologers use the placidus system for division of houses?

what role do the cuspal lords, sub-lords of cuspal lords play?

i am always intrigued by all the relationships between planet lords, nakshatra

lords, sign lords, cuspal lords, etc. because i have never understood how these

relationhsips are derived in kp. For instance, u mentioned the following:

"

In K.P. there is also a very simple method for a deeper study...if the sublord

of the VIIth cusp signifies II,VII & XI,without any relationship to the houses,

IV,VI ,X & XII...the marriage will surely be a happy and hassle-free one... "

How are such rules derived in kp? i am all ears...

Also, i believe, kp does not give importance to retrogression, exaltation,

mooltrikona, etc. Is that true?

is there a very basic book on kp?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

vinita
