history of astrology

 

there exist history for the country for people and some times even for some art.

Astrologically there has not been much historical record. Especially post

independence era. i have limitation because of lack of information on many

fronts. correct me if iam wrong or mis placed any facts. this article is broad

sweeping changes which swept through astrology in the post independence era.

copying in not wrong. many people seeing the article would like to write there

idea of what was history is also ok. there is no one version of any event or

situations.

 

There has been important changes in terms of language usage and integration of

technology.

 

Books on astrology were mostly in vernacular language. Bv raman the founder of

Indian council of astrology wrote books in English which become popular..

 

He also created a structure called icas which trained people to become

astrologer. The branches are there in many parts of the India.

 

He was also published the magazine in English which also popularized astrology

among educated elite people.

 

 

He was good in mundane astrology predictions which also boosted the popularity

of astrology.

 

Traveled abroad lectured and taught few hand ful of foreigner which also sowed

the seeds for the American council of vedic astrology to be born.

 

Aynamsa of the bv raman was problematic which is still not used very popularly

 

There has been transition of astrologer from Brahmins to non Brahmins. Were many

people from non Brahmin family become astrologer professionally.

 

Secondly the other forms of astrology like numerology tarot cards, western

astrology runes which has been becoming popular slowly from 1990 on wards.

 

Many astrologer use the modern technology like computers lap top soft ware which

has been constant leap in way for calculations.

 

Before that we shall dwell on the era of the kn rao

 

He wrote book in English books in astrology secondly he also popularized the

jamini astrology. He has very good track record to mundane astrology

predictions.

 

One of major contribution according to me was helping other budding astrologer

to publish books and number of titles in different dasha and various aspect of

astrology.

 

Largest school in astrology which trains nearly 400 or more people every year. I

could be wrong in this figure.

which has helped popularizing astrology

 

The era of internet

 

This is were the speed of change in astrology picked up very fast.

 

Number of web sites which offer information on astrology has become huge.

 

Connectivity between India and the foreign living Indians.

 

The number of astrology groups and regular discussion which enhances many people

astrology knowledge

Astrology products sold over the web , phone based astrology reading become very

popular. The trend was set by sify.com. now days many portals use astrological

services as revenue earning. Many astrologer make good money by having there own

Number of dasha and techniques for astrologer the range increased a lot due to

the soft ware. Today we can calculate any dasha any parameter using astrology.

 

 

 

Instead of going astrologer houses people using cell phone connecting with

astrologer taking a reading and paying through banks etc has become a reality.

 

 

Mundane astrology predictions

 

There has been sea change In this area.

 

First of all mundane astrology was published in the monthly magazine.

 

Then the web made it on weekly basis which was set by sify.com

 

The quality of mundane astrology has increased a lot.

 

From predicting only political predictions it has switched over war, sports,

cinema,stock markets, price of commodities,  celebrity lives, yearly

predictions, any astronomical events will be discussed by not one astrologer but

by many astrologer.

 

This is done in magazine televisions web sites, groups in the internet . various

avenues are available for individual.

 

Television brought astrology closer towards the astrology. Private satellite

channel wanting content published daily predictions . followed by answering

question by astrologer. It has evolved to the level were these days astrologer

can beam there own programme or promote themselves like bejan daruwalla.

 

The quality and number of writes in mundane astrology has increased. One can see

many astrologer making it right in these areas.

 

There has been few biases.

 

First of all hand written horoscope are better than computer calculation which

is not very true. In fact computer applications has changed the way astrology

calculation done with speed and precision.

 

\astrology taught by icas is the best. There has been very good articles in the

internet, very educative ideas on the discussion with astrologer, discussion in

the groups.

 

Free down load of sacred texts in astrology in internet  has changed the

learning of astrology.

 

Astrology has two kinds of people. one is old school astrologer integrated with

modern technology. astrologer who refuse use technology.

 

 

Who is greatest astrologer? It is cinema . earlier the medium was limited so one

had narrow parameters it was easy to say who is good.

 

Now we have so many avenues of expression and so many parameters so it would

difficult to come to conclusion. Few can claim egoistically. For example

commodity pricing or sports predictions is not a perfected art were the

consistent remains wobbly.

Today astrologer has to have a world view and broad idea about various culture

,country ,technology, influences. One can get call from Canada followed by call

using internet to form we are the best and rest are the worst.

Astrologer who were popular in 1980 or even 1990 would have found it the rules

of reading astrology for clients has changed a lot . that they will have still

lot of catching up to do.

 

we have very dicussion groups in astrology were invidual can learn a lot about

astrology technique and methodology.
