Dear Goel ji,

Thanks for this link. This is great.

At the same time I request the readers to please buy books in Hard copy

from the Gita Press. They are doing unparalelled work for decades in

spreading authentic Indian culture and preservation of same. Their books

are priced almost negligibly and we must not remove them from their

legible share of earnings to maintain their lofty institution for the

good of future generations too. We have to be responsible citizens and

maintainers of this heritage by contributing our share.

regards/Bhaskar.

Those who have not read this before must surely read this one too -

"Easy Journey to Other Planets" by His Divine Grace A.C.

Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Those who have read this (in the past) may well re-read it again if they wish.

Dear Goel jiReally you said important words , Geeta Press Gorakhpur is doing best effort for Hinduism. But regarding Christians, they belongs to rich country and how they donate , money for Christianity , you will not believe , they spent lot of money. But we hindus , we're only found in India and Nepal and then we are divided into different

zones , like south, west, and we are almost struggling for our survival, and those are rich , they don't care for religion, they believe in business or fun.so you cant compare Hindus for other religion.RegardsDr Mishra--- On Mon, 10/5/09, vijay.goel <goyalvj wrote:vijay.goel <goyalvj Re: Maitrayana-Brahmaya Upanishad and a reference to Signs Received: Monday, October 5, 2009, 4:00 AM

Dear Goel ji,

Yes we are much backwards than the Christian missionaries in this matter. i remember when I was in the 5th standard of my school, they distributed a small Red coloured Bible to every student of the school, which Bible was so attractive that no one would have wanted lossing it. I remember when I was reading it after going home, My father saw this in the evning and I got a scolding, but then how could he change the whole system, though he has been doing his bit for last 50 years.

We are backwards very much, but not behind. If You visit temples in Bombay on Saturdays you will find many devotees distributing books etc. to the temple visitors. Otherwise too many are doing so in many different ways. I have been doing this for last 20 years in my small way.

About running in loss, Gita Press is not running in Loss as they always receive money from some source or the other.

About donating money, many good Marwadis are doing so. I recently on my visit to Bikaner 2 days ago, met the right hand of Swargiya Swami Ramsukhdasji .(Who has written major recent books in last few decades, after Jaydayal Goenkaji and Bhai Hanuman Prasadji Poddar) and he is a Wood merchant in Bikaner, a Karodpati who has always donated lakhs for such causes and also Gau rakhsa, he himself wears very simple clothes, a torn canvas shoes (Does not wear leather) and looks a poor man, but those who know him respect him greatly. He is a 75 year old man and I was invited to his place to read some Horoscopes. (He treats me like a son) He also spens 3 months in haridwar every year serving at the Gita Press mithai shop selflessly.

But as you said we need more of such persons in Hindu society. We are lagging ,uch behind than the Christians. no doubt about this.

regards/Bhaskar.
