Guest guest
Respected Sir, You have mentioned that the difference is due to applying defaulted ayanamsa. I ewquest you to why dont you mention the source of ayanamsa which is default, so that we will all know and avoid the usage of that ayanamsa? thanq Burra Raja Rao --- tamilserve2000 <arun wrote: > Accoring to most reupted astrologers in South India > Saturn moves to > Leo on the 5th. Guest guest
Dear Sir, Thank you for the reply. Ayanamsa correction I used was 23-57-53.28. It shows Saturn in 2-26'16.672 in Leo today. But should be near 0. today. With kind regards. Thank you Arun
Guest guest
Namaste freinds, Though the post below claims that Saturn's transit occurs on Aug 5 " according to most reputed astrologers in south India " , it basically means those old Tamil astrologers who follow panchangas based on " vaakya siddhanta " . Most astrologers of AP state (which is also in south India) use Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa which is the default in JHora. In fact, most reputed astrologers of India, including Sri KN Rao and Pt Sanjay Rath, recommend Lahiri ayanamsa. Those who use vaakya siddhanta are a very very small minority. The issue with " vaakya panchangam " is not that of just ayanamsa. It is of calculations too. " Drik siddhanta " is based on seeing planets in the sky and refining the calculations based on practical observation. " Vaakya siddhanta " is based on fixed formulas given by some ancient astrologers. Those formulas are never refined and used as they are, even centuries after the formulas were given. In the age when these formulas were devised, they were probably accuarate and it was probably convenient to use the formulas. But, the inaccuracy slowly kept increasing with time and today they are quite inaccurate compared to NASA models of planetary movement. Still, some Tamil astrologers prefer to use those formulas. Please note that Maharshi Parasara supported using " drik siddhanta " . If you physically look at Venus and Saturn in the sky and find the angle between them, longitudes found using drik siddhanta will match that angle (irrespective of whether you use Lahiri ayanamsa or Raman ayanamsa or Krishnamoorthy ayanamsa). But, if you use vaakya siddhanta, the angle may not match. If you want vaakya siddhanta calculations, you cannot use JHora (or any software I know of). But if you want to use drik siddhanta calculations using any ayanamsa, you can use JHora and change ayanamsa. The default is Lahiri/Chitrapaksha ayanamsa, which is the most popular in India. Raman ayanamsa, Krishnamurthy ayanamsa and several other ayanamsas are also available. However, vaakya siddhanta differs not just in the starting point of zodiac (i.e. ayanamsa), but in all calculations.
