TIME IMMEMORIAL When there was no people nor civilization anywhere in world, there were people camped on the east bank of Zind. River Sindhu. The formed families societies, villages, towns, cities and grown by generations.l It itself took more than 1000 years to have the first town of human. They were interested in the welfare of all the world and deputed representatives to share their production - agricultural - just to look after the welfare a person was deputed and he was always travelling from village to village and looking after the deficiencies and sharing the excess at another place. This representative was appointed as unique by all the villagers (very few population). Later after ten thousands of years, the system of this representative got various rights including food and bed at every place he visits. It was the harmonious co-operation of the villages. Again by generations, the new generations came, the selfishness and laziness influenced on some. It is natural only. However, the Kings and Emperors were formed by this way. By increase of Population, number of Kings increased. (See the present Indian Parliament has about 73 kings (called Ministers) and they would be feudals of tomorrow, if you do not block it now. ). It may be divine will- but unless we have abandoned the world and become sanyasis- and sometimes even then, we have a responsibility to uphold dharma. Your argument that there is no such thing as Hindu is rather disingenuous since it concentrates on semantics and not on the spirit. I hope the words 'sanatana dharma' instead of 'Hindu' satisfies your need for proper semantics. Being inert and submissive while others plot to destroy dharma is not being satvic or being non-violent. It is just another form of tamas. Resisting and fighting using non-violence is sattvic.
