Namaste,

Please download the latest JHora 7.33 beta at

http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jh/test/jh_update.zip

It contains a few bug-fixes and some additions:

(1) In SAV, you can use 7 or 8 BAVs now. Check the ashtakavarga preferences.

(2) Rangacharya's chara dasa has been corrected. When you enter birthdata now,

you will be able to enter the gender too (male/female/unknown). Gender will be

used in Rangacharya's chara dasa. The code for this dasa has been modified by

Shanmukha Teli, who becomes the first contributor to JHora software other than

me.

(3) When you resize various windows and frames, you can save the sizes now and

reuse them when the program restarts. Check the new options in preferences

related to display.

(4) There is a nisheka/aadhaana chakra feature, but it is still a work in

progress. It is unreliable. It is based on one interpretation of Parasara, but I

am unsure of its correctness yet.

Please download the update, try it and let me know of any issues.

If you have any issues, please email me your jhora.ini file. It can be found in

the jhcore directory in the directory where you installed JHora. That file will

tell me your settings. Some issues can be reproduced only when one uses exactly

the same settings.

Thanks,

Narasimha

Dear Narasimha,

Thank You - you've built a monument for yourself already!

I see you feel you haven't explored charakaraka options enough-

may be worth keeping it for awhile?.

Thank you, Shanmukha Teli for your contribution.

Warmest wishes,

Anna

Namaste,

I have Jhora 7.33 alpha installed on my computer from a few months ago. Is the 7.33 beta an update of that version? It seems like the 7.32 has been discussed a lot but not the Jhora 7.33 alpha. You can verify my version in the attached print-screen of my Jhora program which shows the about Jhora window giving the version. I want to make sure that I am not going backwards with the new installation. Thanks for any information in regards to this matter.

Best Wishes,

Ellis

dear narasimha ,

JHORA does not yet show the planetary rays computation for each of the 7 grahas

as mentioned by Maharshi Parashara.

Can you please incorporate this feature in the next release of JHORA , since

planetary rays are very essential in deciding the strenght and auspiciousness of

the planets...

also , the Ishta and Kashta phala calculations do not seem to be correct , since

the ishta and kashta phala never add up to a total of 60 as indicated in BPHS.

im also using parashara's light 7 and it shows very accurate ishta and kashta

phala calculations ..

could you please fix these too in your next version of jhora ?

thanks and many regards,

chandan s sabarwal.

Namaste,

I will keep this request for rashmis for a future version, but mostly not for

the current one (7.33). It is a good suggestion.

For shadbalas and ishta and kashta phalas, I did not use BPHS as my reference. I

used Dr Raman's book on shadbalas. This was programmed in JHora long before I

discovered BPHS and started digging into it. I will later refer to BPHS and see

if there are discrepancies. If anything needs to be cleaned up or added, it will

happen post-7.33.

For reference, the formula used by JHora is

ishta_phala = square_root(uchcha_bala x cheshta_bala)

kashta_phala = square_root((60-uchcha_bala) x (60-cheshta_bala))

Thus, ishta_phala and kashta_phala do NOT add up to 60.

Thanks,

Narasimha
