Namaste,

Open a new chart. Search for your city in atlas and edit the timezone, longitude and latitude if needed. Accept the data. Make sure the chart being displayed shows your location. Then select "Preferences" in main menu and "Set current location as default".

Namaste,

Here's how to do it:

1. Start JHora.

2. Click on Data Icon (Edit Birth Data). You have a pop-up now to fill in the

details.

3. Type in the Place of interest (Jodhpur). Select India from the list of " All

Countries except

USA " .

4. Click on " Rest of the World " button. This should populate the

lat/long/timezone details.

5. Click OK and close the pop-up.

6. Goto " Preferences " Menu and click on " Set Current Location As Default " .

7. Goto " Preferences " Menu again and click on " Save Preferences " .

This should do it for you.

Narayan

Namaste,

I guess what you are asking is " How to turn on LMT by default? " . Follow the same

procedure I gave previously, after entering your preferred place, please select

" Use LMT instead and ignore the above(useful for old dates) " checkbox, and

repeat the same procedure as mentioned previously.

Once you do this, you will get 4H 52M in the Timezone field instead of 5H 30M.

Hope this helps.

Namaste,

It seems to me like your JHora is unable to store jhora.ini file that stores the

modified settings and hence using the default settings always. The file is on a

disk that is write protected or the file itself is write protected.

Where did you install JHora? What is the directory? Give the full path.

Thanks,

Narasimha

Namaskar,

I have downloaded in C:/Program files/Jagannath Hora.

I have search the file " jhora.ini " and find it as 'jhcore' 17.5kb,it is the same

file ?

Problem in Local Time which shows different and every time have to correct

manually.

It is better to download again and delete the previously, full JHora 7.33.Will

it solve the problem ?

Thanks,

M.S.Bohra

Namaste,

Please be patient and do not delete it yet. We will figure this out in 2-3

iterations, over the next day or two.

Now, check the properties of

C:/Program files/Jagannath Hora/jhcore/jhora.ini

file. See if it is marked as read only. If it is, change it.

Secondly, email me that file.

Thanks,

Narasimha

Namaste,

I got the jhora.ini file in private mail from you. It does have Jodhpur

co-ordinates set correctly as the default. So JHora knows when you make a prasna

chart that you want it made for Jodhpur.

Can you confirm that you do see the correct longitude, latitude and time zone in

the chart information when you open a new chart and only the time shown is

wrong? Is my understanding correct?

If so, there is only one possibility I can think of. Even though you live in

India, your computer is set for a US timezone!!!

When JHora opens a new chart, it gets the time from the computer OS. Computer OS

converts the time shown on the clock to GMT and gives it to JHora. JHora then

converts it to your local time and uses it to make a chart.

When you bought the computer, it was probably set to EST or PST timezone of USA.

You simply changed the clock time to your local time and did not change the

timezone. So the time reported by the computer in GMT to JHora is wrong.

Double click on the digital clock at the bottom right corner of your PC. It will

open a dialog box called " Date and Time Properties " . There will be a tab called

" Time Zone " . Select it. It will show the current time zone set in your computer

OS. Make sure it is not showing a US or European timezone and showing

" (GMT+5:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi " or something like that. Then

your computer knows that the time in your clock is based on IST and converts it

to GMT accurately.

If the above procedure is not available in your computer, find out how to change

the time zone information in the computer OS.

Thanks,

Narasimha

Namaste,

I can ask the computer for the local (clock) time only and assume that it is in the correct timezone. That created problems on some computers with old OS during March and October, during the days when daylight savings time was extended in US recently. The computer OS display shows daylight savings time in the clock, but when JHora asks OS for the local time, it gives the standard time (one hour behind clock) instead of clock time. The libraries within OS which give the local time had a problem dealing with the extended daylight savings time periods. JHora cannot detect which computers do this and which computers give the clock time correctly. So it will end up showing a chart that is one hour less than clock time.

To work around this issue on a few computers during March and October in US, I switched to asking the computer for time in GMT always. That works consistently, provided you set the timezone in your computer clock accurately.

I am glad you are all set now.

Dear PVR Ji,

Very true, mistake was in my computer setting which i could recognised

before you find out it.Now my J'Hora set as per my wish.

Is there is any system in your software which can display the significant of

planets as per KP rules ?If yes than please give the direction how to display

it.

Why not you prepare the PDF for all details and uses of your software J'Hora. It

seems i am demanding more and more from your side but it will help to understand

the software well.

Thanks for your all replies to me.

in the correct timezone. That created problems on some computers with old OS

during March and October, during the days when daylight savings time was

extended in US recently. The computer OS display shows daylight savings time in

the clock, but when JHora asks OS for the local time, it gives the standard time

(one hour behind clock) instead of clock time. The libraries within OS which

give the local time had a problem dealing with the extended daylight savings

time periods. JHora cannot detect which computers do this and which computers

give the clock time correctly. So it will end up showing a chart that is one

hour less than clock time.

switched to asking the computer for time in GMT always. That works consistently,

provided you set the timezone in your computer clock accurately.

Computer OS converts the time shown on the clock to GMT and gives it to JHora.

JHora then converts it to your local time and uses it to make a chart.

of USA. You simply changed the clock time to your local time and did not change

the timezone. So the time reported by the computer in GMT to JHora is wrong.

It will open a dialog box called " Date and Time Properties " . There will be a tab

called " Time Zone " . Select it. It will show the current time zone set in your

computer OS. Make sure it is not showing a US or European timezone and showing

" (GMT+5:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi " or something like that. Then

your computer knows that the time in your clock is based on IST and converts it

to GMT accurately.

The file is on a disk that is write protected or the file itself is write
