Namaste to all

I am new to this group and as a new student of astrology i find the discussions

useful.

I am finding a small error in Jhora S/w.

This is regarding my friends chart DOB : April 16 , 1969

Time: 2:00 am

J hora chart shows the date as Tuesday when actually April 16 1969 falls on a

Wednesday.

Can anybody please explain why this difference

Namaste.

Vedic Sunrise is defined as Sunrise from one day to the Sunrise of the next day.

So , lets say 6AM to 6AM (approx), then even if someone's born at 5.59AM, it is

considered as the previous weekday. In your case, the birth time is 2AM and

hence considered the previous weekday.

Hope this helps.

Namaste,

J Hora is correct. In Vedic Astrology, days are from sunrise to

sunrise. Since the birth time is 2:00 am, it is still the previous

day. Only after sunrise (around 6:00 am in India) will be the same as

the English day.

You are thinking of 2:00 am as after 00 am and hence the next day. But

for us the day changes only at sunrise.

Best regards,

Somnath

Hi

There is no error.

In jyotish, the day starts when the Sun rises and lasts until the next rising of

the Sun. Therefore, at 2 a.m., the astrological day is the day before the

calendar day.
