Guest guest
Dear Mr. Narasimha Rao garu, For the following chart, JH 7.3 is giving 16.10.2009 as thithi pravesha where as it should have been 16.09.2009. Why so? is it a bug? DOB: 13.10.1955 TOB: 11.55 hours POB: Vijayawada, A.P. India The JHD file attached herewith for your ready reference. Hope to receive your communication at the earliest. Guest guest
Namaste, The definition of Tithi Pravesha used by Pt Sanjay Rath is that Sun must be in the same sign as at birth. You were born in Kanya maasa as per solar months (Sun in Vi) and Bhadrapada maasa as per soli-lunar months and the soli-lunar day (tithi) was Krishna Trayodasi. On 2009 Oct 16, Sun is again in Vi and it is Krishna Trayodasi of Aswayuja month. Even though soli-lunar month does not match that at birth, solar month does! As per Pt Rath's definition based on solar months and soli-lunar days, this is the correct TP chart. The other definition of tithi based birthday used in tradition for celebrating the birthdays of gods and human beings is based on the soli-lunar month itself and soli-lunar days. In that case, you look at Bhadrapada Krishna Trayodasi and get 2009 Sept 16. The default is JHora is what Pt Sanjay Rath taught. To change it, go to " Preferences " , " Related to calculations " , " Tithi Pravesha Calculation Options " . The checkbox " Use solar (as opposed to soli-lunar) months for Tithi Pravesha " is checked by default (i.e. Pt Rath's teaching). If you uncheck it, you will get the traditional method for reckoning birthdays of gods and human beings. I have seen many examples where one approach works better and many examples where the other approach works better. There is something amiss with respect to the naming of soli-lunar months. I will throw more light on this in future and add another option to JHora based on my research. For now, try the two options, though neither works perfectly in all cases.
