Guest guest
Namaste, Please download the latest JHora 7.4 alpha at http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jh/test/jh_update.zip Just unzip it and run jh_update.exe that you get. Please note that this is not a full release. It is only a differential " update " . If you have a working copy of JHora 7.3 or later on your computer, this update will work. If not, you will need a full installation and please wait till I release it. It contains a few bug-fixes and some additions. Some are mentioned below: (1) Bhava arudha pada calculation has a new option now (not the default) to find bhava arudha padas based on exact longitudes. This will allow you to replicate the calculations in the free article " Padamsas and Tranits: A Research Finding " at http://www.vedicastrologer.org/articles). (2) The Vimsottari dasa based progressed chart where lagna and nine planets are progressed based on the Vimsottari dasa progression is supported now. This will allow you to replicate the calculations in the free article " Transits and Vimsottari Dasa Progression: A Specific Correlation " at http://www.vedicastrologer.org/articles). (3) In addition, progressed charts based on Yogini dasa, Kalachakra dasa and Sudarsana Chakra dasa are also available, enabling further researches into fine quantitative correlations between dasa based progressed charts and transit charts. (4) JHora was only giving Ishta phala and Kashta phala calculated based on Dr Raman's book on balas earlier. JHora now also gives Ishta Phala and Kashta Phala of Parasara, as defined in BPHS. In addition, JHora now gives Uchcha rashmi, Cheshta rashmi, Subha rashmi and Asubha rashmi of seven planets, as defined by Parasara in BPHS. (5) Avayogi calculation had a bug that affected 50% charts. It is fixed now. (6) JHora's " mundane " tab now has a button to locate the stationary transits of planets. This will allow you to replicate the calculations in the free article " Stationary Planets in Transit (A Research) " at http://www.vedicastrologer.org/articles). (7) A toolbar has been added at the top to add/subtract time (in units of 1 sec, 15 sec, 1 min, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 month and 1 year) with the click of a button. (8) Divisional longitudes in transit charts were not shown earlier. They are shown now. A few other bugs, kinks and instabilities were addressed. Please download the update, try it and let me know of any issues. I will be fixing any critical issues left and officially releasing it very soon. Please do not send me any new feature requests at this time. I will only be looking at critical malfunctions and not adding any features or calculations. If you have any issues, please email me your jhora.ini file. It can be found in the jhcore sub-directory in the directory where you installed JHora. That file will tell me your settings. Some issues can be reproduced only when one uses exactly the same settings. Guest guest
One more new addition worth mentioning is: In " Basics " , " Key Info " pop-up menu where longitudes etc are shown, a new menu called " Planetary aspect evaluation " is added. It evaluates the planetary aspects of eight planets on all planets, all mathematical points (e.g. GL), all houses (cusps) and houses from all arudha padas, using Parasara's formulas for aspect evaluation. It shows aspects by percentage (e.g. 42.44%). For aspecting planets as well as aspected planets, you can choose current chart (transit/TP/Tajaka/progressed) or natal chart and choose any divisional chart. For example, you can evaluate the aspects of transit D-9 longitudes on natal D-24 longitudes. Guest guest
Namaste, The selection of a planet as the base/reference point for finding bhava arudha padas is within the section "Longitude Based Arudha Padas" in the arudha calculation dialog box. It applies only when longitude based arudha padas are used. If sign based arudha padas are used, it is trivial to know the arudha padas of houses from planets. Suppose lagna is Virgo and Venus is in Aries. Then A2 from Venus is the same as A9 from lagna (as the second house from Venus and the 9th house from lagna are the same, i.e. Taurus), A3 from Venus is the same as A10 from lagna and so on. However, when we find exact *longitude based* arudha padas, A2 from Venus and A9 from lagna in the above example may be at different longitudes or even in different rasis, based on the exact longitudes. Thus, the ability to change the base was added. If you try arudha padas of houses from planetary references and see an error, please report it to me with the birthdata used and the planetary reference chosen. It seems to me that 7.33 version regaarding Jaimini Navamsha chart is good one or ?(Shanmukha's examples used were quite in line with 7.33 version).Am I right ?mr On Mon, Mar 1, 2010 at 8:53 PM, Narasimha PVR Rao <pvr wrote: Namaste, Please download the latest JHora 7.4 alpha at http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jh/test/jh_update.zip Just unzip it and run jh_update.exe that you get. Guest guest
Namaste, Oooppss. Thanks for pointing this out. JHora 7.4 is only giving the " Uniform Krishna Mishra Navamsa " I defined in: Please see JyotishWritings/message/13 In the original Krishna Mishra navamsa, some signs occur 12 times, some 9 times and some 6 times. It is a non-uniform chart and makes no sense. In the above writeup, I gave an alternative interpretation of Krishna Mishra's Sanskrit verses, so that each sign occurs 9 times. I will restore the original Krishna Mishra Navamsa defined by Shanmukha and add the above as a new option, though I am almost 100% sure that the original Krishna Mishra Navamsa defined by Shanmukha is an invalid and wrong chart. This will be done in 7.4 beta. I am reprodicing text from the above link below, for more info. ---------------- As I said, this is an asymmetric chart with different signs represented unequally in it. Some signs appear 12 times, some 9 times and some 6 times, instead of all signs appearing 9 times overall. THAT makes no sense whatsoever and is quite illogical, irrespective of the caliber of the scholars who taught it. It tells you something is amiss. * * * It is possible that Krishna Mishra's verse quoted by Shanmukha is misunderstood. As a Sanskrit scholar, I can certainly see it meaning the following, which is slightly different from how Shanmukha interpreted it. But that slight difference in detail changes the complexion completely and makes it logical. My independent interpretation of Krishna Mishra's verse is as follows: " The nine parts of a movable/fixed/ dual sign are mapped to nine signs starting from the 1st/9th/5th sign from it, respectively. The nine parts of the sign are considered in zodiacal/anti-zodiacal order in odd/even signs, respectively. " This is subtly different from the standard interpretation that Shanmukha went with, but note how it changtes the equation. The second Krishna Mishra verse given by Shanmukha also says that amsas in even rasis are reckoned anti-zodiacally, but it does not say the mapped signs are reckoned anti-zodiacally. So my interpretation fits with both the verses. Let me show how this changes the mapping, using an example: The nine parts of Ar reckoned zodiacally go into the nine signs starting from Ar, i.e. Ar, Ta, .., Sc, Sg. The nine parts of Ta reckoned anti-zodiacally within Ta go into the nine signs starting from Cp, i.e. Cp, Aq, ..., Le, Vi. In other words, 26Ta40-30Ta00 goes to Cp, 23Ta20-26Ta40 goes to Aq, 20Ta00-23Ta20 goes to Pi, ..., 3Ta20-6Ta40 goes to Le and 0ta0-3Ta20 goes to Vi. Then the nine parts of Ge are reckoned zodiacally again and mapped to the nine signs starting Li, i.e. Li, Sc, ..., Ta, Ge. The nine parts of Cn reckoned anti-zodiacally within Cn go into the nine signs starting from Cn, i.e. Cn, Le, ..., Aq, Pi. In other words, 26Cn40-30TCn00 goes to Cn, 23Cn20-26Cn40 goes to Le, 20Cn00-23Cn20 goes to Vi, ..., 3Cn20-6Cn40 goes to Aq and 0Cn0-3Cn20 goes to Pi. And so on. * * * Such an interpretation of Krishna Mishra's Sanskrit verse is certainly tenable. And, it does not *bias* the chart towards some signs like the standard interpretation. All signs appear exactly 9 times in the list of 108 navamsas. THAT would be logical. To find amsas in Ta in standard interpretation, we are starting from Cp and going in reverse and mapping the nine parts of Ta (0Ta0-3Ta20, 3Ta20-6Ta40, 6ta40-10Ta0 etc) to Cp, Sg, Sc etc. It results in some signs repeated too many times and some signs missing out. In my interpretation, the signs mapped to are Cp, Aq, Pi etc as in Pararsara's navamsa, but the parts within the sign that are mapped to these signs are reversed in order (26Ta40-30Ta0, 23Ta20-26Ta40, 20Ta0-23Ta20 etc). This small twist, which is perfectly tenable with Krishna Mishra's language, makes things far more logical. You do not want a navamsa chart in which not all signs appear 9 times in the list of 108 navamsas! * * * I wasn't sure why I felt compelled to write a critique on this topic. I just followed my inner inspiration faithfully, even without understanding why that action was required. NOW, I think I understand why I was inspired to get into this. The inner inspiration now tells me that my dharma with topic is finally fulfilled and I can move on... ---------------- Best regards, Narasimha - Free Jyotish Software, Free Jyotish Lessons, Jyotish Writings, " Do It Yourself " ritual manuals for short Homam and Pitri Tarpana: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org Films that make a difference: http://SaraswatiFilms.org Spirituality: Jyotish writings: JyotishWritings - jhora , Medha Raja <medha1008 wrote: > > Namaste, > > Thank you Narasimha for new update. > > I think there is a bug in Navamsha chart. Guest guest
Namaste, For my own resesarch, I had long back added the ability to click on a planet (or lagna) in any divisional chart and get bhava chakra in that divisional chart based on divisional longitudes (and the " lagna is the beginning of first house " method). However, I did it only in south Indian style charts and not yet in other styles. Thus, it is not being rolled into a formal release yet. It will have to wait. You can see all divisional longitudes and mentally assess the houses occupied by various bodies w.r.t. various references. Guest guest
Dear Narasimha,It seems to me that there is one more bug in software. If one goes to " Miscellany " tab and and tries " Varga Based Progression " ... any D-chart option (or rasi, or Navamsa) gives same result. Or I missed something ?lolMedharaniOn Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 10:20 PM, Narasimha PVR Rao <pvr wrote: Namaste, For my own resesarch, I had long back added the ability to click on a planet (or lagna) in any divisional chart and get bhava chakra in that divisional chart based on divisional longitudes (and the " lagna is the beginning of first house " method). Guest guest
No, I see it working correctly. Based on the varga you choose, calculations change. Of course, event date has to be different from birthdate. If you try to find progressions on birth date itself, all vargas will give the same chart. But I am assuming you are entering a later date. Please give me the birthdata you are using the event data (date and time) when you are finding progressions. Thanks, Narasimha ---- Medha Raja <medha1008 wrote: > Dear Narasimha, > > It seems to me that there is one more bug in software.
