This is not a bug. An alternative definition of arudha padas is being added in

JHora 7.4 beta (a formal release of 7.4 is a few days away). It is defined in

the article " Padamsas and Transits: A Research Finding " at my article site

(http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/articles). If you select " Set Calculation

Options as recommended by author " in JHora 7.4 beta, it will use longitude based

arudha padas of houses.

With the data you gave, lagna is at 4Cn22. Lagna lord Moon is at 22Sc57. From

lagna, Moon is at a distance of 120 deg + (22 deg 57 min - 4 deg 22 min) = 138

deg 35 min. Add that to Moon's longitude (22Sc57). You get 11Ar32. That is where

JHora 7.4 shows AL when you enabled longitudes based arudha padas. Otherwise, it

shows AL in Pisces (without any longitude associated with it).

* * *

One specific transit principle I found, which is based on the divisional

longitudes of arudha padas defined like this, is explained with 32 practical

examples in the free research article mentioned above. The close correlation of

transit longitudes are quite striking. It cannot be a mere coincidence.

When I used arudha padas only in rasi chart or when I defined arudha padas in

divisional charts using divisional longitudes, I had no significant

correlations. But, when I found arudha pada longitudes in rasi chart and took

their divisional longitudes by treating them as any other mathematical points

(e.g. lagna or ghati lagna), then rasi transit lognitudes had significant

correlation to them.

For example, divisional longitude of my A5 in D-7 is 22Cn29. When Mercury (lagna

lord in 11th and in 5th from Jupiter, in my D-7) was transiting (in rasi chart)

at 22Cn23, my son was born.

Divisional longitude of UL in my D-9 is 8Ge45. When Venus(lagna lord in my D-9)

was transiting at 5Ge53, I got married.

Divisional longitude of A8 in my D-20 is 5Ge35. When Mercury (12th lord from AK

and occupying the 12th from AK, in my D-20) was transiting at 5Ge35, I had a

life-altering spiritual experience.

Divisional longitude of A8 in my D-16 is 28Sg28. When Jupiter (6th lord in my

D-16) was transiting at 25Sg35, I had a vehicular accident.

Divisional longitude of A9 in a yogi's D-20 is 7Ar11. When Sun (9th lord in his

D-20) was transiting at 7Ar22, he had darshan of a deity from a previous yuga

and an interesting interaction that transformed his life.

Divisional longitude of A6 in my D-10 is 10Sc41. When Mercury (10th lord and

dispositor of 6th lord, in my D-10) was transiting at 9Sc47, I joined my first

job.

Divisional longitude of A7 in my D-10 is 24Aq05. When Mars (8th lord in my D-10)

was transiting at 25Cn25 (aspecting 24Aq05), I lost my job.

There are 32 examples in the article, covering various arudha padas from lagna

and from karakas and using them in various divisional charts.

The recent researches I shared (stationary transits, padamsas & transits,

Vimsottari dasa progression & transits) based on correlating transit longitudes

in rasi chart and some divisional longitudes based on natal chart, show the

importance of divisional longitudes. They are the tip of an iceberg and I

believe there is a wealth of knowledge waiting to be discovered here.

When Pt Rath taught me arudha padas more than 11 years ago, he mentioned two

approaches - sign-based and longitude-based. He said he was not sure which was

correct and asked me to research and find out what is working better. He also

asked me to give the sign-based one in software. I have now finished my research

and found longitude-based arudha padas working better. I am about to release it

in JHora 7.4 so that others can give it a try.

JHora has many many options. The purpose of adding the option " Set Calculation

Options as recommended by author " is to allow people to follow me if they want

to. I am also interested in adding a similar option to set calculation options

as recommended by Pt Rath. I have already sent a request, but have not heard

back. If I hear back from Sanjay ji with his preferences file, I can add that

option. If any students of Sri KN Rao can send me a jhora.ini file containing

settings they recommend, I can add an option for that too. Just click " View " and

" View jhora.ini file (preference settings) in notepad " . Settings will be

displayed in notepad. Just send me the text shown in notepad. For

details/discussion, please send a private mail to pvr108.

BTW, if you selected " Set Calculation Options as recommended by author " and want

to make an exception for arudha padas and go back to sign-based arudha padas,

please click " Preferences " , " Related to calculations " and " Arudha pada

calculation options " . In the dialog box, see the section " Longitude Based Arudha

Padas " . The checkbox " Find arudha padas of houses using exact longitudes " should

be unchecked for old sign-based calculations.

JHora 7.4 will be released in a few days. The beta2 version is being tested by

JHora members. Formal release will happen soon.

Narasimha

Dear Narasimha,

I need more time to 'digest' /test, understand, accept/ info-

so I deliberately postponed studying 'longitude' issue /for better time-I've been sick/ and missed this- sorry.

/Now that you spoon-fed me, I noticed that Ju transited seventh house from AL in D9, Lord of seventh, when I got married; but Rahu tr A5 in D7, Oh! when my son was born- I really need to study this more..too exact to be coincidence, though/

I am glad you offered your setting preference. It helps a lot.

Thanks for your patience.

An alternative definition of arudha padas is being added in JHora 7.4 beta (a formal release of 7.4 is a few days away).
