Siddharth ji,

You have raised the good old question once again. I am sure you will

find answer of this question in this groups archive.

IMO if you like reading Hindi, you should go for Arun Samhita. And if

you like reading English you can check Lal Kitab translation by

Goswami and Vashishta. Photocopy of urdu book is also available in

market.

Hello All ,

Can u please tell me where i can get the Photocopies of the

urdu book (is it the 1952 one or all 5 books ?) Also if the Urdu

books are out of print i would be glad to scan all the pages and put

it up on the internet(if i am not stepping on anyones toes by doing

that). This seems like an excellent group.

Tnx to all the people here for all the excellent posts.

Hi Rajesh

The scanning and public distribution of Pt Jee's(Late pt Roop Chand

jee) books involves two issues i.e.

[1] Legal, and

[2] Ethical

lets look at the legal issue

[a] Pt Jee copyrighted his books. You cant play around with his rights

and those of his assigns and successors.

Pt Jee did not copyright his work. There are no legal

constraints.

Now the ethical issues

All his life Pt Jee did not charge a paisa for all the help he gave to

people.

These books are the inheritance of the Joshi family from Pt Jee. Is it

fair that we play around with their inheritance?

I hope Pt. Som Dutt Jee will soon decide whether he wants to try and

copyright his late father's works.

If he does, we must then respect the commercial claims of the Joshi

family on these books.

If he does not wish to do so and specifically allows gratis

distribution of the books written by his father

only then should we think in terms putting these books up for public

distribution.

Regards

hello rakesh

Well i would glady go buy a reprint of the LalKitab but there are

none forthcoming and a xerox copy is as bad as a scanned in version.

250 books published cant take care of all the people who want to have

read those books unfortunately....

If its published again thats excellent ....

If not i dont see the difference between photocopies sold in the book

stalls and a ebook floating around ...(exept maybe for the " free " cost

associated with the ebook and the money down an unscrupluous traders

pockets with the photocopy's)

Like i said in my post earlier i will scan it in if i am not stepping

on anyones toes.

Regards
