Mr. ShyamSunder,

aadu is a fruit called peach in english

gittak is the seed in the fruit

he is asking you to put surma(also called kajal and used by women to

fancy up their eyes)

1. break open a seed of a peach

2. fill it with kajal

3. bury it in a corner of a park

4. the tool that you use to dig the ground of the park should also be

thrown away

Theek Shukla Sahib?

Gentlemen,

Kaajal is NOT surma. Kaajal is simply the soot of a lamp, mixed with some wetting agent (e.g., home-made butter) and is in the form of a thick ointment. Surma is actually a black rocky substance ( I am not sure if that is antimony) - when ground to a fine powdered form, it is used for putting in the eyes. As a remedial measure (Saturn 1) it is to be buried in solid rock form. For putting in a peach, it can be used in powdered form or small rock form. Respectfully,

Bhatia Sahib namaste,

Which is the correct substance? The stuff the women use for their eyes

or the antimony?

Sehgal Sahib,

Surma is the correct substance for remedial measure, not the Kaajal. Surma is preferred in the rock/crystalline form although the powdered one will do too if you can't find it in crystalline form.
