Dear hanumanth Rao ji,

 

I am writing the dos and don'ts for you as you have requested.

 

Dos :

 

[ 1 ] Wear a copper coin round your neck in a khaki coloured thread.

[ 2 ] Once a year on the day of lunar eclipse throw into running

water , a river or a canal , 200gm jau [ barley] , 200gm kachcha

koyala [ wood charcoal ] and two pieces of lead , a metal , of approx

100 gm each.

[ 3 ] Keep a toy deer at home

[ 4 ] Wear gold, either as a chain or a ring

[ 5 ] Now and then offer at any temple either ghee , or curds or

camphor.

[ 6 ] Keep with you a small solid goli of silver.

[ 7 ] Keep a little rice in the North-east corner of the house.

[ 8 ] Once every year bury either in the cremation ground or a

burial ground ,8 small haldi ganth { rhizomes}tied in a piece of

black and white kambal .

 

 

Don'ts :

 

[ 1 ] Do not keep at home any puja bell , shankh , or shiva idol

made of brass or such metals. Don't do this upaya if you don't feel

comfortable about it.

[ 2 ] Don't let the milk over boil onto fire .

[ 3 ] Don't allow your Bua [ father's sister] mausi [ mother's

sister ] or Sali [ wife's sister ] to stay with you.

[ 4 ] Don't keep broad leaf plants like money plant at home.

[ 5 ] Don't keep at home things associated with music or dance like

tabala or payal.

[ 6 ] Don't live in a house facing either south or east.

[ 7 ] Don't collect wooden furniture etc on your roof.

[ 8 ] Don't eat meat or fish
