Rationale behind Astrological remedies

 

Dear Forum,

 

If we ponder deeply upon this subject, we may realize that many (in

fact most) of us have various challenges in life...as written in

Guru Granth Sahib: 'Nanak dukhiya sab sansaar " . We seek the help of

astrological sciences to better our life. The true value of

astrology is not so much in being able to predict the course of

future events, but be able to help in improving one's given lot with

the medium of astrological remedies. Otherwise, the services of

astrology appear to be very limited.

 

I wanted to start a discussion on this topic. This, I believe is a

fundamental question.. What is hapiness and pain. What is the role

of astrology from an objective point of view for an average human

life. Why/How can astrology help us in improving things. There are

many views regarding this subject. Some believe that every human

being is born with a certain amount of " fortune " and an adjustment

in the timing of events can be done with the help of remedies but

certain things (happiness or suffering) that one is destined to

undergo cannot fundamentally be changed. They believe that with

remedies, the good karmaphala can be cashed quickly and negative

Karmaphala can be postponed until a later date. The question

arises.. is this good since one would be left with so much negative

Karmaphala to deal with later on in the life or lives...Even Lal

Kitab says: " Duniyabi hisab kitab hai.. Khuda ki khudai nahi " ...

 

Others seem to believe that with help of wisdom and techniques

(remedies) provided by astrology, one can improve one's life beyond

mere adjustment in credit and debit in one's account.

 

Let us hear from those who have some experience on this subject or

those who have deeper wisdom and can give valuable insights on this

complex subject. Please quote from scriptures to back your

arguments. This would help substantiate your inferences.

Well I do think that the rationale behind remedies is part

psychological and part giving back to mother earth thanks for the

bounties recieved. If I am told that my Saturn is giving me

problems I would understand it as a warning to simplify my life, tie

up all the loose ends and leave nothing to chance since Saturn

causes obstacles. To reinforce that I would perform the remedies (

giving back ?) and also pray so that I recieve blessings of the

heavens to help me through the problems.

 

It is just a personal viewpoint ...........
