Thanks for such a scholarly and comprehensively drawn list of Rahu's synonyms - this is an invaluable reference. There is neither disagreement here nor ignorance on my part about Rahu being a "dhuaankaRwaa dhuan" etc etc -- these are universally known to all the LalKitab readers including me.

 

Fortunately, I know nothing about what I term as the Dalda versions of LalKitab books - I discarded those a while back due to thousands of unpardonable misleading transliteration errors and omissions. My personal disdain for such books is well known in this forum.

 

To satisfy your curiosity regarding Sun+Rahu discussion, I repeat the reference from LalKitab (teesra hissa) Page 314, Rahu+Sooraj line 4 :

 

"Rahu - aag - choree bukh.aar kaa bhee maalik hai..... "

 

Shri Yog Raj Prabhakar did NOT write that particular Email - I did. However, I wish to publicly thank him again for his recent act of kindness regarding the third volume of LalKitab.

 

I hope this clears authenticity issues regarding this topic. I have very busy week ahead but as time permits, I'll address the other issues also.

I am quoting below 39 exact excerpts , along with page numbers , from all the three editions 1939 ,41and 52 , to prove that Rahu is identified as dhuan apart from so many other things. These excerpts are from a small part of the books i.e only from the section dealing with rahu.

If I were to collect examples from all over the books , the list would extend by another score or two. I haven’t come across any reference of Rahu as fire .

 

There are just two references to fire ‘ aatish’ that too as an image , identifying Rahu as fever in human body , “ jis tarah zameen ke andar ek atishee lahar hai usi tarah hi insaani jism mein yeh ek bukhar ki halat mein hota hai”. The other is ‘aatishee bhoochal’ fiery earthquake or earthquake with lava eruption . Here it is used as an adjective for earthquake. Of course Rahu has been identified as earthquake also.

 

I am giving page numbers from Arun sanhita because quite a few members have an access to it and can verify my claim.

Dear Bhatia ji,

 

Do you agree that 1952 edition of the Lal Kitab is an enlarged

version of the previous editions , and unfortunately the last version

also. How come there is not a single reference to fire in the context

of Rahu in this book.

 

Next I am going to post excerpts from the 1952 urdu edition [ and not

from any Dalda books ] to prove that Mangal represents fire.

 

After that posting , let the readers decide for themselves which

planet represents 'fire'
