My very dear Le,

[ 1a ] Yes, almost all the planets seem to be covered by the items

you use for abhishek. Normally shiv-abhishek is done with milk, and

bilva leaves. There is no harm in doing it with the items that you

use. More the better. But basically itis the shraddha ' devotion'

which is more important than these items. Therefore you do not have

to go out of the way to aollect all those things. Any way Lord Shiva

is a deity who is not fussy about what you worship him with.

[ 1b ] You do not have any planetary combination which prohibits

worshipping a shivling. Therefore you can have a shivling in the

house. As for keeping the two shivlings together one of silver and

the other of mercury, I would say that you should not keep them

together. Mercury and moon { silver } are enemies.

If you feel apprehensive about some foul play behind the idols, you

could always gift them to a temple or immerse them in a river.

Traditionally, Idols should not be accepted as a gift unless they

are gifted by your Guru or a saintly man whom you know.

IMPORTANT:

For the answers below : Remember the difference between gifting as a

social ritual and gifting as an upaya { with a mental sankalp }. As

a ritual you could gift any thing to any one. But if you do it as an

upaya with a purpose in mind then you have to be careful what you

are gifting.

Here I am talking about gifting as an Upaya.

[ 2 ] You can gift things belonging to mercury, rahu and ketu only.

You should not accept any gifts which are the karak objects of these

three planets.

[ 3 ] Gifting it to a priest, kanyas, sadhus, siblings, servants etc

is one and the same thing. You should gift items of the three

planets I have told. Placing karak objects in front of a deity is a

different thing. What happens to them later, or who takes them away

later is none of our concern.

[ 4 ] Feeding a roti, oiled by mustard oil{ saturn } is the best

thing for crows { saturn }. May be just a touch of the oil.

[ 5 ] You can feed cows { venus } green fodder { mercury } because

the two go together as friends. By feeding Gur { sun } to a cow [

venus } you are bringing two enemies together. The heat of the sun

will whither away the flower { venus }.

[ 6 ] No, you should not gift bananas[ ketu + jupiter] to the young

girls { mercury }

IMPORTANT : Remeber the above holds true only if you gift some thing

as an upaya.

[ 7 ] Batasha is a sweet generally offered at Hanuman Temple. It is

a white bubble like sweet made of sugar. It is a karak vastu of

Mars+saturn

[ 8 ] It is not gifting the karak objects of Mars and Venus which

will help. It is offering the karak objects of these planets to a

deity which should be done to minimise their malefic effects. Making

them swear in the name of God that the planets will behave.

PHEW...phew...quite a long list.

Affectionately,

Bhooshan Priya
