Stotra is a hymn to appease a planet. How could appeasing be harmful ever. Whether a planet is well placed or badly placed, reciting stotra can never antagonize a planet. Will that result in smooth sailing is a different matter. It will depend on whether you antagonise a planet unwittingly. In that case even a stotra can not help.
