Hello Mr. Khan,

In Vedic literature Yajna is considered as the means for securing awareness

of the Divine. Yajna is governed by mantras, sacrifice and divinity. By the

performance of the Yajna according to Vedic injunctions, one can acquire

the ability to get rid of the seven veils of ignorance, ascend the seven

stages of spiritual knowledge and achieve liberation ( " Moksha " ).

Yajna is performed by the Vedic Pandits who take the prescribed vow to

perform the Yajna after chanting the mantras for sanctifying the place of

Yajna.

The Yajna begins with the lighting of the sacred sacrificial fire. In the

Yajna, seven principal deities are worshipped. Ganesha, Surya (the Sun God),

Devi (The Divine Mother), Brahma, Vishnu, Siva and Agni Sakthi. Vedic chants

are recited to adore the four-faced Brahma who is the propagator of Vedas.

The Fire God (Agni) the transmitter of devotional fire offerings to the

Devas, is also propitiated by the offerings to the sacrificial fire.

Altogether seven Divine potencies are worshipped.

This is a specialised performance done by specially trained persons and is

also prescribed for propitiations as well as gaining favor of the dieties

for various aspects of life.

Hope the above information helps.

Best wishes,

> >Dear Professor Choudry: With all due respect, while your

description of yajna is quite thorough and encompassing, nowhere in

your literature does it suggest a yagna as a propitiatory measure, I

believe, or at least, one which you do suggest or promote. As of this

post, are you endorsing yajna as a significant propitiatory or

strengthening measure? Or is it simply for information purposes only?

Thank you for your patience. Yours sincerely, Chuck

Hello dear Mr. Chuck,

This is only for information. The simple remedies suggested by me have been

found to be more effective than the yajna in my experience. Yajna is costly

and time consuming. But even if some one asks for the same, it can be

arranged in addition to the other propitiatory remedies.

Best wishes,
