It is hard to forget the 1986 blast at Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which was followed by nuclear fallout over a large section of North Europe and one that is estimated to have caused tremendous property damage in Russia and led to at least 4000 deaths in the intervening years. Even if this blast is relatively modest and no real damage, it must be quite unsettling to hear about for the Russians and their immediate neighbors.
