Is it Rahu's influence over the ascendant or over another house or planet? Also, is the weakness of the Moon also a deciding factor? Thanks in advance. By looking at his birth chart, there seems to be just one indication pointing to addictions (Sa, ruler of 4th, placed in 8th and being conjunct with Ke). Other that that, he has 4 strong planets (in their own MT signs). We do see 20% impact of Ra pn Ma, ruling hidden health problems. Ma is also with 5 degrees of the MEP - does this push it more to its negative side? Is there something else I'm missing, or are the afflictions on Saturn and Mars enough to contribute to a complete self destruction? Note that father was alchoholic too, even though Sun seems strong in its own sign, in old age though.
