Guest guest
Dear Ms Mary, Namasthe.Exactly as the Professor has clarified. This is such an important point, because on this question of " Purva Punya " [Merits coming from good deeds done in past lives], the SA differs radically from VA[Vedic Astrology].So, I'll say a few things. If one has a strong VH or has FBs placed strongly in the VH, then there is Divine Grace in life, for bringing one's good works into the world. On the other hand, if the IXH is strong FBs are placed therein, we become the recipients of Divine Grace[we are 'fortunate'], because, without our 'exerting ourselves', Fortune just comes our way, and smiles on us.This is the difference. Also another curious thing, since one's father is the main source of Divine Grace in life[for all matters], when one has good " Purva Punya " [Merits from past lives], one becomes blessed with a strong father[a strong IXH], and this is thus also a reflection of Purva Punya. Very Sincerely, Sankara - SIHA Wednesday, June 17, 2009 8:04 AM Re: 5th house and 9th house significations questions ... Hello Mew, The merits that are with us ready to be used at the time of birth are seen through the ninth house. Further addition to resources/merits eventually coming to us through the actions we take throughout this current life are seen through the fifth and tenth houses. - Mary Ellen Wright Wednesday, June 17, 2009 6:12 AM 5th house and 9th house significations questions ... Dear and Dr. Bhagavadpada: Regarding significations of houses in the Self Learning Course in Astrology book - 4th print 2004 it is mentioned that: 5th house carries the signification of " resources and merits we bring into life " The 9th house carries the signification of " destiny on the basis of past lives and resultant happiness " . Also in reading Dr. Bhagavadpada's book Sri Ramana Maharshi's Moksha the difference between the 5th and 9th houses regarding this area is described as the 9th house being associated with the " purvapunya (spiritual merits from past lives) " whereas the 5th house is considered to be a house of " spiritually meritorious deeds in the present birth " . I am not sure what the 5th house descriptions of these merits mean ... are these the resources and merits that are with us ready to be used at the time of birth or does it mean that these resources/merits can eventually come to us through the actions we take throughout this current life? What is the difference between these spiritual merits and past life credits? Thank you for your time and knowledge. With best wishes, Mew
