Guest guest
Dear Professor I happened to read a book written by BV Raman on the subject of Longevity. I am to understand that the 3rd House and 8th house are of life and that 2nd and 7th are of Marakas. Pls help me to understand the below: (1) While it is always said that 8th house is dustana, how is it regarded as for life as well. (2) From the very book it is learnt that Mars is the maraka for Kumbha Lagna while I also see that the 3rd house (Mars Lordship)from Lagna is also of life. Does it mean that Mars is life and also maraka for Kumbha Lagna. (3) Since Mars is maraka for Kumbha Lagna, can we infer that Mars dasa for a native of Kumbha lagna would not be favourable. Please clarify. Regards Gary
Guest guest
Hello dear Gary, Late Dr. B V Raman not only translated classical astrological literature but also mostly followed the classical astrological principles. The classical principles were meant for the Yugas (ages) for which they were made. As you have observed the classical principles are inconsistant, contradictory and confusing most of the times. These classical principles are not valid for those born in Kaliyuga and these principles need changes mutatis mutandis. The Systems'Approach for interpreting horoscopes propounded by me is a step in that direction. I add my replies to your questions below: (1) While it is always said that 8th house is dustana, how is it regarded as for life as well. LONGEVITY (DEATH), INHERITANCE, EASY GAINS, ETC. ARE THE GENERAL SIGNIFICATIONS OF THE EIGHTH HOUSE. IF THE 8H IS STRONG THIS SIGNIFICATIONS FRUCTIFY WELL IN LIFE. THOSE PLANETS WHICH ARE PLACED IN THE 8H OR ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE 8L FACE OBSTRUCTIONS AS THE 8L RULES THE DEATH AND DEEP OBSTRUCTIONS. (2) From the very book it is learnt that Mars is the maraka for Kumbha Lagna while I also see that the 3rd house (Mars Lordship)from Lagna is also of life. Does it mean that Mars is life and also maraka for Kumbha Lagna. THIS IS INCORRECT INTERPRETATION. MARS IS IN FACT A SUN LIKE PLANET FOR AQUARIUS ASDT. (3) Since Mars is maraka for Kumbha Lagna, can we infer that Mars dasa for a native of Kumbha lagna would not be favourable. NO. MARS WHEN STRONG PROVES THE BEST PERIOD FOR THOSE BORN IN AQUARIUS ASCENDANT. - garyastro SystemsApproachToVedic Astrology Wednesday, August 26, 2009 4:53 AM [systemsApproachToVedic Astrology] Longevity Doubt Dear Professor I happened to read a book written by BV Raman on the subject of Longevity. Guest guest
Hello Lila, You are right. I had many such individuals who were terribly afraid of the wrong predictions. I do not want to name the famous astrologers who made such predictions. Then there are groups of some astrologers who promote each other. One astrologer was so arrogant to write a book on marriage match making through astrology whose own daughter became a widow after two years of her marriage at a very young age. God bless the people who unknowingly take predictions or astrology services from such people. - lila SystemsApproachToVedic Astrology Wednesday, August 26, 2009 8:53 PM [systemsApproachToVedic Astrology] Re: Longevity Doubt Dear Professor, Thank you for clearing this up. Years ago, I was told by another astrologer that I'd die soon after entering 7L Mercury Dasha, because as we age 7L and 2L indicate death. Such misinformation does not encourage peace of mind. I am sure others have been told similarly by classical astrologers. Lila
