AATHREYA - SATHI DEVI

SATHI DEVI is the youngest Daughter of a

very rich and powerful Prajaapathi, Daksha

SHE has many sisters and brothers and

is the Darling of the Family.

SHE fell in love with a Mendicant SHIVA.

HE has no fixed abode , wanders around

Smasaana Vaatikas(Cremation Grounds).

HE does not even have a proper dress .

HE is always dressed in clothes made of

animal skin. HE has no jewllery except

ashes smeared all over HIS Body .

HE does not have a proper transportation

preferring to ride over a Bull , Nandi.

HIS friends are all emaciated creatures.

But still SATHI saw the inner greatness of

SHIVA and wished to marry HIM. Afterall

THEY are inseparable ;

THEY are Prakruthi and Purusha ; and

Left and Right Halves of same existence.

But Daksha failed to recognize the real

greatness of SHIVA as his vision was

blinkeed and forbade

SATHI to marry SHIVA .

Sathi disobeyed Daksha and wed Shiva.

Daksha disowned Sathi Devi and

forbade all his family from

any association with Sathi.

One day when Daksha was performing an

Yajnam though uninvited and against the

wishes of Shiva , Sathi Devi out of love

for HER family went to Her father's home;

Sathi Devi was completely ignored by all

Her family , She felt humiliated and

self immolated Herself.

SATHI DEVI manifest Herself in 18 major

and 52 minor places in Bhaarath as SHAKTHI

PEETTAS.

Om Aadi Paraa Shakthi Namo namaha.
