It has nothing to do with ‘bhoot’...a ghost , if that is what you suspect. This epithet had been dropped from the 1952 edition, although it had been there both in the 1941 gutka and the 1942 edition. I believe the epithet of ‘ tilismi bhoot’ was given to it because in 1942 ed the 9th house mercury has been described as: “ saaya to hai nazar aata, budh nazar aata nahi†… Can feel the presence and yet is imperceptible. Probably it was this characteristic which earned him the epithet of ‘ tilismi bhoot’ In the 1952 edition mercury has been described as ‘ thookane wala kodhi { spitting leper} “ 9,12,8,teesare,11,thooke kodhi budh hota ho†. The tilismi bhoot concept in 1952 edition has been further simplified through these words: “ ulte paon chamgadar latka, chhupi shararat karta ho†… unseen and mischievous . The role of mercury placed in the 9th can not be defined unless the placement of Rahu is also known. The two have to be studied together in order to reach any conclusion. In 1942 edition it is clearly written " jiska saaya maloom na ho " .Now see in the wrapped two words adjective 1.Tilismi 2. Bhoot. 1. What is tilism :- the MAYAJAAL which has not reality but it seems like reality.It can be created by tantra , mantra & tabeez. 2.Bhoot :- the evil soul which can create terror of fear. Now co-relate both words & read the line below this heading " jiska saaya maloom na ho " . All of us known through the stories that BHOOT has no SAAYA (SHADOW). In same manner the budh in 9th rules over all planets in horoscope but itself it seems innocent ,In case taabeezee budh it becomes more dangerous & it hides itself like a BHOOT .Even some times it shows itself but without reflection of its SAAYA 9from khana no. 1st & 2nd, it becomes noncurable.(U know shadow decides that from which side light is coming & u can manage accordingly)khana no. 11 & moon 's situation can be helpful to analyze it. Taabeezee budh comes in a shape of taabeez, normally it includes aish (Raakh) in it ,prepared using sometype of TILISM.In faqeeree language it called BHABHOOT. I think now u can better understand Tilismi Bhoot. Tilism, Bhabhoot & Bhoot is equal to tilismi bhoot which becomes invisible creating terror & fear but hides itself even ,does not show its shadow also.That is budh in 9th. In 1952 edition it described as :--- Ajab bhool bhulaiya , jabaani tamaasha. (jabaan ki kharaabi ya thuthlapan, kabhi kabhi to insaan ki aawaaj main naak (nose) ki awaaz bhi kuchh jyaadaa hi milti hai.)
