If you are interested in knowing the reasons for it, you could read two articles in the file section of the Lal Kitab remedies group of our Guru Pt. Bhooshan Priya ji. However the 1942 ed of the Lal Kitab does recommend a neelam for those with mars and Saturn together. But then one will have to analyse the whole horoscope and also the placement of Mars + Saturn before suggesting a Neelam. We do not suggest any person should wear a gem any way.
