Therefore no upaya would be needed as such unless it is afflicted by its enemy planets from the 3rd house or from the 5th house [ jar of the Sun ]. In that case the upaya will have to be done of the afflicting planet. Suppose mercury is afflicting from either the 3rd house or the 5th house then keeping a brass ghara/kalsa in the house will be advisable. The same is true about mercury in the 10th house. By itself a mercury placed in the 10th is known as ‘khush gujran’ one leading a happy life unless the Saturn , lord of the house mercury is placed in, is either malefic or is turned malefic through our own actions. In this case an upaya of the Saturn will have to be done; and that will depend on where the Saturn is placed.
