Dear Friends,

This day [ December 24th] in 1982, Pt. Roopchand Joshi left for his

heavenly abode. He was not only a great Lal Kitab scholar; he was a

great soul, a siddha atman, an honest sincere being.

It was Pt. Roopchand Joshi who resurrected this almost forgotten

paddhati of traditional Indian astrology, now known as Lal Kitab

paddhati. But for his effort, this paddhati would have stayed confined

to the northern hills of India and we wouldn’t have had the benefit of

yet another perspective in Indian astrology.

We, the Aligarh Group, remember him fondly and pray that his soul rest

in peace.

Respected members

Pt. Roopchand ji made a great contribution to Indian astrology by

reviving the tradition of Lal Kitab. This has definitely enriched the

corpus of astrology material available for us all. Sincerely

Friends

As many windows so much fresh air. Lal Kitab system is yet another

window into our great tradition of astrology. The Indian astrology

would have been poorer had this old tradition of astrology not been

resurrected by Pt Roop Chand Joshi. I humbly bow to the departed soul.

Dear Members,

By reviving the age old Indian astrology tradition known as Lal Kitab

Paddhati, Pt. Roop Chand ji had done a great service to the mankind.

The system not only identifies the problem [ samasya] but also

suggests the solutions[samadhan] in the form of inexpensive and easy

to do remedies. That is where the Lal Kitab gets an advantage over

other paddhatis.

I take this opportunity to pay my homage to a great soul.

Respected members,

I too join every one in praying for Pt. Rup Chand Joshi. May his soul rest in peace, and his spirit and ideals guide us towards a better understanding of the Lal Kitab.
